Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: LMDh announced as the future of global SportsCar Racing

Whist I understand the position the WEC & the ACO found themselves in after Porsche & Audi Left to(diesel-gate ,red herring formula E racing) & therefore needing a new top class
I do feel sorry for the likes of Ginetta who were encouraged to jump into the WEC to booster the numbers in LMP1 ,using their own money in the process, then shafted by the hypercar rules ,& not being selected for the original LMP2 manufacturers list & now a closed shop for the LMDh Chassis
All these new convergence rules do is allow the IMSA teams to cherry pick the best WEC events (they would never do a full WEC ,US fixture /cost etc ) with a political motivated invite to Le Mans ,with those teams supporting ALMS & ELMS not getting their deserved June invites
and where does that leave GTE/GTLM future
A can of worms it is (as yoda would say)

Well the 'fossil fuel consumption tour' continues, with a return to WEC at Spa, STILL working on this years Le Mans...…. But the light on the horizon is a possible Super Sebring 2021 " " " " " " " " " " ditto " " " " " " possible Bathurst 1000 2022

Hi Mark Spa is MEGA!! My 1st time this year to WEC at Spa & providing you have a good warm coat (when it snows..) & a polo shirt (when its sunny....) all in the 1st hour...….!! together with a walked in pair of boots you should be fine GA tickets get you all the grandstands including above the pits (bar /restaurant area above the pits on race day you have to buy tokens, redeemable against food /drinks but 2/3rds of it are free access) Access to around all the Spectator areas of the circuit with an absence of Le mans type corporate hospitality areas getting in the way The big plus for me was the vast areas that are AM photographers friendly, with many areas above the dreaded catch fencing I've booked to go back already

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: The killing of Autosport mag

yes, tis a shame its come to this underhanded tactic to kill off the physical mag, Buying the mag since a nipper, & I admit in recent years its lost it's lead in quality news. Web news has its place , but I'm of a age where books, newspapers & magazines are my preference ,(& having more than 30 second attention span) also less expensive when dropped in bath / loo!!! Having renewed my subscription in June, I'm looking forward to finding out about my rebate …………….
