3  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: MB Layout? on: May 27, 2008, 10:06:23 pm
Will the pitches be allocated for the Classic or is it a free for all?
It will be my first time on MB so keep it nice and tidy you lot!
I am organising the cobra club trip to this years classic and the ACO have told me that the site will be zoned but not numbered.
All I need from them now is where they are planning to put 70 of us !!!!!!
SO in answer to your question if what the ACO say is correct then its a free for all in the zone you get allocated. If that makes sense.
To be honest in previous years at the classic it hasnt mattered as there has been plenty of space, however I am led to believe that this years event is going to be much better attended, by about another 30,000 so they say, MB, KN are both full and they are apparently allocating BJ for the latecomers. HA is reserved for the Triumph owners club.
4  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Classic Le Mans 2008 - Are you coming too? on: February 02, 2008, 10:01:47 pm
The Cobra's are attending en - masse this year, approx 70 cars, 138 peeps plus theres 54 of us doing the 'parade laps'.
We will be camping on MB so you wont miss us, pop over and say hi and have a beer or 2 !!!!!

Werner re your lovely Triumph, best to contact the owners club as they have their own arrangements with the ACO, ie seperate campsite and they definetly do the parade laps, although some of them ended up being out with the cobras in 2006, which made for a few interesting moments, namely one of the cobs sideways ( on full power and opposite lock )  between 2 triumphs heading onto the start finish straight  Grin Grin Grin Grin

There is a very large steam and car event every easter weekend at the dockyard, well worth a days visit.
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Classic vs 'The 24 Hours' on: August 09, 2007, 08:53:21 pm
The cobra club attend the classic 'en masse' about 60 of us last year and probably a few more next.
As an avid LM devotee, I can honestly say its the classic for me every time, did the main race several years but really got fed up with the non racing activities, have to say the classic is more like the main race was about 5-6 years ago but with fewer people.
No theft, relaxing, leave your campsite in the knowlege that it will all still be there when you get back Cool, that kind of thing.
Oh and heaven forbid we also take the ladies Roll Eyes...... a lot less grief when you want that pass out. Grin

If you want to spot the southeast cobs just listen out, some as much as 130Db !!!!!
You will hear us before you see us.
9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Silverstone Classic on: July 25, 2007, 10:24:20 pm
I'm heading down there for the weekend.  Might make it Friday night to Whittlebury aswell to get the pitch set-up and a curry on the stove.  Any excuse to dig out the tent and drink some cheap wine!

Sounds like I'll have plenty of Cobra's to have a nose round aswell.

The weathers looking good for Friday and then iffy (but not bad) for the rest of the weekend.

Give us a shout we will either be chewing the fat by the cars drinking beer or in the bar............
and for gods sake dont start on about chevy vs ford....please, there will be a riot, however I'm with you as I run a SBC.

We are all at Whittlebury park/Hall for the classic weekend at the end of the month.
Will feed back on good and bad points etc, also re noise, but with 40 odd cobras there all putting out somewhere between 100 - 125Db I dont think noise will be an issue !!!!!!!!!
Last time out en masse at Brands we kept the Kentagon bar open until well after closing time, so we will see what we can do here as well.

14  Club Arnage / It Happened To Me / Re: Is this you???? on: November 27, 2006, 06:02:45 pm
I note from the pistonheads link it was Oct 2003, that year I camped on the bugatti circuit just around the hairpin and remeber the TIV & Porker trying to do donuts etc but failing miserably the pair of them. Also a few youngsters in pimped vauxhalls etc who tried racing each other around the bend, till one got back to their area first handbraked to a stop and the other blue cabriolet slammed straight into the side of it and it wasnt even his car !!!! 15  Club Arnage / It Happened To Me / Re: Ferry Costs- how do they work? on: September 24, 2006, 10:56:36 pm

Were trying this idea next year for the LM 24hr bike race and gp as the routes and fares for bikes this year were over £100 return for a bike Huh?
