4321  Club Arnage / Just To Say Hi / Hi on: May 16, 2006, 09:56:36 pm
First driven down the Mulsanne straight by my Dad in 1961 with my Mum and sister in the back seat wondering what the**** we were getting so excited about.   Saw Jackie Stewart racing a Mini at Rufforth, David Piper (lifelong hero) at Oulton Park when his LM was brand new and eye-witness to the Great Galaxy smack-up at Old Hall.  When the dear old boy died in 1997, spent the money he left me on my first trip to the 24hrs and have been every year since.  Now living in my spiritual home of La Sarthe - great people, great place and just 30 mins from....
Hi to all and have a great race this year. Cheesy Cheesy
4322  Club Arnage / So You Think You Know About Le Mans / Re: Rondeau question on: May 15, 2006, 10:43:03 am
Don't know the answer to your question but according to the news on the Rondeau website the M382-001 chassis has now arrived in France and is undergoing restoration.  Hopefully, a chevvy engined Rondeau will therefore be ready for the 2008 classic. Smiley

Conflicting answers there.

Peter - have you done this during the race proper - if so where do you get in?

Never used the ACO stand because of the (supposed) limits on the number of tickets you can have.  We are usually next door in Lagache (ex T19), and it would be useful if I could pop next door for a decent ablute!!

I think Peter is wrong, I'm afraid.  Although I have always had an ACO grandstand ticket when I've been, I have watched the ticket checking and they seem very fussy to me in that they accept ticket holders only on race day, but if he's tried it he may know for sure.  If you want ACO grandstand tickets in future years, visit the Centre des Expositions (by the airfield) during the race and ask for a booking form for next year (you can do this during quali days too plus on mad Friday).  That way you're pretty much guaranteed to get all camping/grandstand tickets you need for the following year.  It works for me.

Please note the ACO grandstand and entrance ticket is now sold.  Thanks to all for their interest and have a great race. Smiley

ACO MEMBERS CAN USE THE GRANDSTAND ON PRACTICE DAYS BY SHOWING THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARDS.  ON RACE DAY YOU NEED A GRANDSTAND TICKET BUT DON'T NEED TO SHOW A MEMBER'S PASS.
4326  Club Arnage / 2007 and earlier / ACO GRANDSTAND TICKET FOR SALE on: April 06, 2006, 02:40:31 pm
DUE TO THE USUAL PERSON DROPPING OUT AT THE LAST MINUTE, I HAVE AN ACO GRANDSTAND PLUS GENERAL ENTRANCE TICKET FOR SALE . 145 EUROS  (MEMBERS' PRICE). AS EVER, THE TICKETS WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE ACO PRINTS THEM BUT THEY CAN BE COLLECTED AT THE CIRCUIT OR I CAN POST FIRST CLASS FROM FRANCE (BUYER TO PAY COSTS).
PLEASANT COMPANY GUARANTEED! EX-PAT LIVING 30 MINS FROM THE CIRCUIT.
4327  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Tickets - when will they arrive? on: April 06, 2006, 02:18:44 pm
I live half an hour from the circuit and buy my tickets direct.  Still, they don't get printed until a month or so before the race (once the 24 hour bike race is out of the way.  My advice for anxious purchasers is to order the tickets direct from the ACO and pick them up at the "Centre d'Exposition" (opposite the airfield) when you arrive.  If you plan to come the following year, you can then put your provisional order in straight away and will get the best campsite/tribune spots at the best prices.
