Depends on my work then, but from Germany you can get to Madrid and back for 80€, I think it was LTU.

It's worth to spend more than one thought on this race as Jarama is also a very nice circuit imho adn the weather should be fine still in mid-september.
77  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Here is a chance to be involved on: May 19, 2006, 12:06:37 am
I'd be happy to help, I just hope I don't have that much to do as I would have had a Spa - quite a costly weekend for some of them
78  Club Arnage / Just To Say Hi / Re: Greetings from a well worn NA race fan on: May 19, 2006, 12:01:17 am
Wadespeed, you get a beer or two from me for hating those DP's Grin

And I nearly made it to the S-Word, but Iceland-Air was too dangerous for me. Rhein-Main-Orlando-Rhein-Main for 300€ Roll Eyes
Better not to...

And btw, even though I'm German I hope that both R10's fail on formation lap.
Ban Diesel from Le Mans!!!

I keep my fingers crossed for the Swiss Sprit Courage as well as for Andy Wallace in the RML Lola
79  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Start/Finish area with G/A Ticket? on: May 18, 2006, 11:50:04 pm
Sure I'm in Zolder again. I really like Belcar and will one miss this weekend's "Home Race"  Cry

But as a true endurance-fan I'm used to get early for the start. I think 4-5 hours is fine.
Getting up, watching warm-up and having breakfast and then off to the S/F area

But hey, I don't care whether it's gravel or concrete or what ever. We decided to go to Le Mans at last weekends LMS race, so it will be total chaos for us as we would've normally went to the Nurby 24.
So one of our collegues has to work monday 0715 which means we have to leave midnight latest. Thans lord he lives right at the german/belgian border

Is that true with glass bottles being forbidden?
Is it only at the track or also on the camping?
Well camping can't be if I remember the beermountaineers, but at the track no glass?

Man, this means shopping in belgium as we germans have to pay a 25 cent deposit on beer cans Roll Eyes

I can stronly recommend those 12V/230V boxes.
Bought one for 40€ at a german discounter.
It's get's very cool inside, doesn't eat much of your genny power and can be plugged in during your ride to the track
Mine has 30 litres volume and is high enough for 2 litre bottles. Nice to know, "0,5 bombs" fit as well then Grin

perfect
81  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Flagpoles on: May 18, 2006, 06:37:34 pm
Our flagpole is selfmade, but for the campsite only

It consists of 5 elements made from good metal. A solid base that get hammered a good 20cm into the ground.
Around 4m high and lasts even worst thunderstorms

Taken during Belcar First Race this season. Night temperature -4°C Cool

Wow, that forum rocks.

Well, getting there early is just as normal as it is on other races like the Proximus 24hrs at Spa

THANKS
83  Club Arnage / Help / Start/Finish area with G/A Ticket? on: May 18, 2006, 01:45:43 pm
As we planned Le Mans with only 30 days to go, we only got G/A Tickets.

The problem is now: Where to watch the start?

My dad was at LM in 1978 and there he could stay in front of the grandstands.
Is that still possible or do you have any other tips where we can watch the start as well as the preparations? (I didn't want to say Hawaiian Tropic Girls) Grin

Thanks
84  Club Arnage / So You Think You Know About Le Mans / Re: 'till my ears bleed! on: May 18, 2006, 11:12:13 am
Even though I've never been to LM I've experienced a lot of endurance races.
Spa is pretty good also. Like the exit of Rivage on the outside, or opposite to the pit exit.
No need to talk about the exit of La Source (I can't tell you how I got there and an amateur photographer Wink )

The 333SP's weren't that loud. But the sound was superb. I also noticed huge differences in the sound between those lovely cars. In ISRS there ran half a dozen of it.

The Panoz LMP-01 is probably on of the loudest I've seen.
Also a good call is the Jim Gainer Mugen.
The GT3 RSR's are may be not loud but they have a strange frequency that fight their way into the head Shocked (if you're 5m away from them)

But now being in my 14th year of watching races there's not much that impresses me.

The only thing were I covered my ears were the blowers during the German500.
Those pick-ups with a turbine on their back for drying/cleaning the track.
The Champcars themselves were pretty loud too, but it was rather hearing them all the time than their loudness. The turbocharger reduces the sound pretty much,

Ok, I found that on the map. Thanks Phil!

Seems that we've managed to plan everything within a few days.
Well, we have experience with endurance racing. ~35 days per year at the racetracks (FIA-GT, LMS, Belcar...)

86  Club Arnage / Just To Say Hi / Last Minute brigade says hello! on: May 17, 2006, 11:59:53 pm
Hello Racefans
It's the last minute brigade- I'm Tommy part of www.endurance-fans.de
We've been at the Spa 100km (will visit 1000km Ring too)
Our plan was to skip Le Mans because of the Nurby 24 as we have a one hour ride to the Ring.
But the Ring got so expensive now with paddock included (yes, I walk from Wippermann to the paddock) and the entry is so weak.
During the Spa weekend we've decided to go to Le Mans instead

I ordered 2 BSJ tickets and 5 general tickets today. Yes, we go with 5
I just hope it worked out.

Everything is planned already, ETA wednesday 1500

Just have to figure out where I can pick up my tickets then, as it's not only a complete chaos but also our first time.
No matter how chaotic it'll be, it was the right decision. Nurby 24hrs sucks big time this year and the Nurburgring  organiziers suck even more. I go mad if they don't open the Mercedes Grandstand this year

Cu @ Le Mans
