Over here Velocity Channel carried the full race feed, and watched as much as I could.  It wasn't hard, it's been close to 37 degrees here in Cincinnati this weekend, so it was good weekend for staying indoors in the AC, with some good, cold beer, and watching the race.
Happy for Toyota, and Fred, but the LMP1 class was a snoozer this year.  Agreed, the GTE battle was terrific, and great to see the revenge of the Pink Pig.  Wonder how many models are going to be cranked out of that bad boy?
Alonso's win pretty much guarantee's he'll be back at Indy to go for the Triple Crown.

Great to see the Pink Pig livery again!  I was never a huge fan of the Rothmans colors, but it is a pretty iconic sponsor livery in Porsche racing history, so I get it.

They've added on to it quite a bit since your last visit, including a couple more buildings.  Some of the aircraft on display now were still active and very guarded back then, one of them being a personal favorite of mine, the Lockheed SR71 Blackbird.
If you click on the exhibits, it lists the aircraft & weapons on display.  A pretty amazing collection.

I know this isn't a racing theme, but we have some vintage warbird, and aviation enthusiasts on here, so what the heck...
Probably the most famous Boeing B-17 has gone on permanent display at the US Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB just outside Dayton, Ohio.
Here's some links, the photo gallery of the restoration is especially impressive.

Saw JPM in the paddock at Mid-Ohio a couple of weeks ago at the IMSA meeting, he still has a steely, determined look about him.  He and the Penske Acura squad had a very nice weekend.

27  Club Arnage / Help / Matra photos wanted on: January 31, 2018, 09:12:35 pm
Hi Guys,
Looking for some good pre-race, pit lane, or paddock shots of the #10 Beltoise-Cevert Matra 670B from the 1973 LM 24 Hrs.
when I was a young lad I was a big fan of the French blue screamers, and Cevert.  I'm in the process of building a model of the '73 JPB-FC car, and some photos would be helpful.  Also looking to purchase prints of the car.
On track images are fairly straightforward to find, but pit & paddock photos seem more scarce.
If any of our esteemed photographers on here have any, or could recommend someone who may have some, I will be very grateful.
I've checked the usual suspects, LAT, Sutton, etc.  Not much luck, or help there.
Cheers,

Good to see Fred in the WEC.  He seemed to really enjoy his Daytona 24 Hours experience.

Sebring 1970, one of the all time greats, and his young Matra teammate, taken far too soon.
