To watch the game you could try the "Cafe Bar Aux Portes du Circuit" which is (as it's name says) close to the main entrance, opposite the Expo campground. I remember watching Euro- or Worldcup-games on several occasions there. Another option which has worked out successfully in the past was to walk around the campgrounds after the race, look out for satellite dishes and ask the people wether they watch the game and wether you can join them.
Good luck

Hi Andy,
yes, nice to be back on the forum and also nice to be back in Europe (Germany). After 5 years we've left Hanoi as planned, our contracts were finished and are now back in Cologne. Still miss a few things from Vietnam, the good food, rice wine and motocycle riding, but living in Germany now makes my visits to Le Mans as lot easier and much cheaper!!!

Fully agree with you, Steve. I'm dealing with the booking office for more than a decade now and never had any problems, they always reacted in a timely manner and replied to every mail I sent them.
And once you start to book a year in advance, you usually even get the campground of your choice.

Hi all,
just sipping my breakfast tea and reading this discussion with some amusement. Here in Hanoi (where I live) it's a common sight to see 4 people sitting on one motocycle with the driver riding it single-handed and having a mobile in the other hand taking calls while driving (no one wears a helmet here, so that's no problem). Going back to Europe next year, so it looks like I have to change my own phone-while-driving habits too..;-)
Cheers, see you all in June 2004

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Next year's winner is...

Hi everybody,
I just got hold of a top-secret VAG document with their motorsport-schedule for the rest of the decade:
2004: Audi wins Le Mans 2005: Seat wins Le Mans 2006: Bugatti wins Le Mans 2007: VW wins Le Mans 2008: It's Bentley's turn again... 2009: Lamborghini wins Le Mans 2010: Again Audi wins Le Mans......;-)
Let's hope some serious competitors show up, otherwise this might become the nasty future... I don't want to knock the Audi- and Bentley-boys, but the last 4 years have been rather boring, haven't they?
Cheers
Werner

Looking at the various years of construction, half of the grid of last years race were already classics, eg. the Panoz. I think only Bentley and a handful of others actually built a new car for the race. OK, just joking....
I'd draw the borderline by today - 15 years, as an XJR is definitely a classic!
Cheers
