1771  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Leader & Michel Valient (or something like that) on: May 30, 2003, 02:33:50 pm
It'll probably end up with a straight to DVD/Video release here (didnt "Driven" get the same treatment?).

I wish that Driven had gone straight to DVD, then I wouldn't have wasted £6 on the cinema price and 2 hours of my time !

Dreadful film is an understatement !

Agree with that, the "Driven"-DVD should be used as a frisbee, at best

Hi Edwin

would like to swap Beausejour for Houx Annexe, I already wrote you an email.
1773  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Helicopters on: May 30, 2003, 05:42:56 am
Some of my mates did it last year, they just went to the airstrip and it was about 70 EURO per person for about 15 minutes flight

At www.imdb.com (International Movie Database) the movie "Michel Vaillant" is still listed as "in production"
1775  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Where do you get yours? on: May 28, 2003, 02:30:41 am
You mean if you order camping tickets from the ACO, they actually allocate you some? Wink

Yes, they always did. I order by email (usually about 10 months ahead), give them my credit card details and my postal address and it worked fine the last years. They even sent my tickets to Vietnam (where I'm living now) by registered mail. Only drawback is that often I didn't get the campsite I was asking for, e.g. this year I asked for Expo or HA and they sent me Beausejour, but that's still better than nothing...
1776  Club Arnage / Help / Re:Le Mans - Paris - Le Mans trains on: May 27, 2003, 03:01:10 pm
The TGV takes about one hour. I once took it on the Thursday prior to the race and just bought the ticket at the railway-station in Paris, had no reservation, but may be I was just lucky. In LM it takes about 15 mins by taxi from the train station to the track.
There are also direct TGVs from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Le Mans.

I think it was 1986, when he did it with Hans Stuck and Al Holbert!!!!

(Got another picture of him from that year, celebrating it together with Hans in the pits, but I don't know how to insert.)

Intersting poll: I order directly from the ACO, but NOT at the previous years race. In the last 3 years I just mailed to ticket@lemans.org and it always worked. Is this meant by "agency"? Where should put my vote?

Hi smokie,

fully agree with you, please keep the "no profiteering" rule for the sell/swap forum and enforce it strictly. For everyone else there are places like ebay....

Monaco? aaah, those funny open wheel cars which hardly make it for more than 1.5 hours?

Thanks KPy.

I've modified my posting using your information
1782  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:What do you think is essential for LM? on: May 22, 2003, 05:12:35 am
Fireworks
Water-pistols
FM-receiver

What to leave at home:

Wife & kids
Expensive cloths
Your brain
Stress, bad mood
1783  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Warning!!! on: May 22, 2003, 03:43:09 am
For those of you who want to play it safe, this is the drill:

Speed limits (unless otherwise signed):
Motorway: 130 kph (110 in wet conditions)
Open Road (Dual carriageway): 110 kph (90 in wet conditions)
2-Lane-Road (Most Route Nationales: 90 kph
Town: 50 kph
Conversion to english money: 1 Mile = 1.6 km

Alcohol limit: 0.5. Some people exceed this already after 1 or 2 beers, so better stay clean completely. Don't underestimate your hangover-level from the party the night before. After serious drinking even 10 hours of sleep might not get you down below the critical level.

Seat belts: All passengers (front and back) are required to wear them.

Stopped by the police: When the police signals you to stop, you are expected to pull off the road, switch off the engine, wind down the window and remain seated. The cops will come to you.

Fines: Can be heavy. I once paid around 300 Euros for overspeeding by 35 kph on the motorway.

Latest trend: They have started to measure the gaps beween cars on the motorway by using helicopters. There seems to be a minimum distance, but I don't know what it is. So if you hear a chopper and your car is not equipped with some anti-aircraft-gun, keep some distance;-)

Cheers

Hi Paul,

we might have a spare ticket for Camping Beausejour, but I cannot confirm yet, in about 2 weeks I will know more when it becomes clear, with how many cars we'll go to LM this year. If you are interested, let's stay in touch. The ticket is 35 EURO (face-value).
Cheers

Sound's good, I'd like to join the match. Don't worry about my skills, I'm already 43 years old, smoke at least 30 cigarettes per day and drink lots of beer every day:-)
