Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: long service!!

This year was my 25th on the run and I've also done one classic.
I miss the old pits and the pit balcony. The old Welcome area was great for two things, one a good view from the top of the tower and two relatively clean bogs.
it cant be all that bad though as my two sons (23 AND 21) now come ( 3 times each ) and all they talk about all year is LM, so maybe some of the magic is still there, its just different.
Have we booked for next year................you betcha we have !

2010 already ordered from those nice people at Just Tickets. When something is as important as your camping tickets you've gotta take the risk out of it. I know you pay more, but you dont end up at some godforsaken campsite miles from anywhere.
That said waiting to see what the ACO sends must be a bit like xmas !!!

Club Arnage / Help / Re: Sunday getaway

We now leave Sunday morning (theres only so many times you can watch the end of the race) to get the 12.30 quick boat from Caen. Generally find the roads are deserted hence journey time of well below 2 hours to Caen.
Hope that helps.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Drivers Parade - Friday Night

Steve,
As you are on houx you are only a short walk from the tram, which is handy as the trek to the bus stop by the cemetry was not good with a bad head. We'll be going into town Friday and normally end up in the vicinity of the parade where we bump into Rusty and the Breth, then its Irish bar, then its........ you know the rest !

Fabulous M'Lord please do come on over. We also arrive Thursday afternoon.
Chief alcohol officer reckons we're open for the dispensing of guest drinks from circa 5pm onwards, which gives us time to get pitched up, Carrefoured up and genrally on the way to getting pi**ed up.......oh dear, here we go again.
I suspect we'll even throw in some charcoal that a few hours before would have been meat !!! (We burn everything on the bbq. If youre lucky Andy will knock the bbq over and demonstrate his fire walking act....again!)

Look forward to that m'Lord. If thou art around the area of the lowland Houx site at any time twixt arriving at our race track in France and the Saturday night poo bar scenario thou art most welcome to join us for mead and such like.
We are ( with thy lords pleasure ) pitched at space 930 and 4 others in the humble community of Houx. Thursday evening would be a good time, not too late otherwise the carnage will have set in and speech may be a problem !!!!!!!

Mr Z, I totally agree with your summation on Mr Senna and would add Mr Schumacher into the same category (who can forget him turning into Damon Hill, I think in Japan, just to take him off.
I would not wish an accident on anyone, but sportsmen, Mr S and Mr S were not.
