61  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Camp sites ... when do they open up ? on: May 30, 2012, 01:28:15 pm
Check out the Wikki Guide.

ACO campsites open 09.00 Sunday 10th June.

How open they will be at that time is anyone's guess!

Enjoy

The worst thing for Trusser's point of view will be that it buggers up his lap chart, he has always kept very detailed and accurate lap charts.

True that a lot of commentary is, and has for some while been done with reference to TV feeds, but being able to see the pit area is a real bonus. The problem is that everyone assumes the ACO actually want Radio Le Mans, my experience when working on the station was that they didn't, and would be far happier if the need to provide an English language service vanished overnight.

The moral here is if you don't want something, make it as difficult as possible!

Hi All!

Having done my best with this years campsite guide for the Wikki, I would like to appeal for help to improve the service offered for next year. rather than reviews from other forums, I would like to use the impressions of users from this forum, so we need the following.......

Any thoughts, impressions and pics of the campsites you stay on this year.

There are no reviews on any forum of Dairon or Pincenardiere, so please, let's have some after this year's event.

Reviews of Arnage, Expo, Houx, and the Annexe, Musee, and Karting Nord are hopelessly out of date, so some current thoughts and pictures would be appreciated.

Not sure how to collate all this stuff yet, I will sort that out after the race, but please spare a few moments and pixels whilst you are out there to help improve the guide and the experience of those attending.

Sorry to say that the ban has nothing to do with the enviroment, and everything to do with the idiots who choose to show their feelings about a result that goes against them by throwing bottles on the track.

Ban does only apply to campsites within the track perimeter, and is most rigidly applied to early arrivers.

Hi Werner!

Just posted this elsewhere .......

A classic case of burning twice as bright and lasting half as long. Simoncelli was a delight to watch racing, his uncompromising style was harsh but fair, I always thought, and his outlandish style always made me smile, Charlie Cox once said " it isn't a riding style, it's crisis management!"
This forum can be a bit sniffy about other forms of the fine art, but Motorsport in general needs personalities, unfortunately it has lost two this week and our world is a duller place because of it.

RIP Dan Wheldon

RIP Marco Simoncelli

1st tickets don't have your eyes out like many agents, obviously there is a mark-up, but worth the cost for the peace of mind.

We've used them for a number of years, and can't reccommend them enough.
70  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Campsite for Silverstone LMS/ILMC? on: August 22, 2011, 11:13:33 pm
The Murvi Crew will be there, in greater or lesser numbers (minimum 2!)

Woodlands is the place to go, stayed there last year, nowhere near as bad as the posted rules would suggest.

I simply remember laughter, we laughed the entire time.

Doesn't get better than that !

We will be at the 1000k, staying on the Silverstone campsite. We stayed there last year, might be a bit pricey but the facillities are first rate, the showers are better than I have at home !

Stars and Bars on the waterfront was a favourite hang out when I was covering GPs in the late nineties, lots of motor memorabilia at the time, might still be there.
