Shocking parenting if you ask me Steve. I hope that well oiled machine that is Social Services clicked into gear and removed the young tyke from the cheap labour sweat shop cotton mill that is undoubtedly whirring away in your condemned basement area. H

Hi Mark, Who can resist a post with the phrase "magnificent bollocks"? Not me. It's a bit of a long shot really, - ideally we're after about 5 camping (and 10 grandstand, maybe too long a shot?). Smokie is going to try and bulk his request up, and see what they offer, - maybe you could do the same and who knows, we might be able to cobble enough together. It's beginning to look like a lads and dads thing, maybe after scattering Savaloy it's an opportunity to hand over the mantle. Personally, I'd rather hand over the mantelpiece, it's a badly tiled shocker, I can't understand why anyone would put that at the bottom of a good chimney. H

A few of our original squad are planning a bit of a re-union at LM this year, - to toast poor old Savaloy (very heavily), talk general bollocks, and I believe we've some ashes to distribute. Anyway, it's been a few years since any of us have made the journey, and my ACO membership is no more, so can anyone tell me the best way to get tickets these days? I've tried TL, but there's already a hefty waiting list, are there any other agencies that anyone can recommend? Hanging on and keeping an eye out on Sell or Swap is always an option, but probably a bit of a lottery, it'd be nice to get on Blue Nord and that way we can talk even more bollocks, for a more sustained period. Holy sh*t, I sound like a newbie... H

Good luck with the rehab Tom, I'm sure it'll all go well. I hope your day is going ok, - the first 24 hours after a general can be a bit up and down. If you see any nurses even remotely resembling Charles Hawtrey, then keep tight hold of the sheets! H

Oo-err, - the examinations sound fantastic! Good luck Tom, I hope it all goes well, with just the right amount of discomfort. A mate of mine had a similar op earlier in the year, it all went well and he wanted to go back to work after about 3 days, his mrs had to hide the car keys. In the end he was back in the saddle after a fortnight, as recommended, and is right as ninepence now. H

Yep, raised a couple of glasses this end too, for Debs and for Savaloy. I drew the line at getting the wrong side of a pumped up Camberwell Carrot though; admittedly it would have been a fitting tribute to Sav, but I'm sure he'd have understood my reluctance.
Definitely will be heading to Le Sarthe next year.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / RIP Savaloy

Hi Guys, Sadly, I have to report that one of our crew passed away last week. It's a while since any of us have made the journey to le Mans, but for those that knew him, you probably remember Savaloy as a man with never a dull moment, always ready with a big smile, and always good company. He also was at the front of the war against the wacky backy mountain, and could often be found sending what were probably very profound smoke signals in the Sioux language from his tent. RIP Sav mate, you'll be missed. H

Holy Task Force! I was out and about on Friday 'artnoon somewhere around the Haslemere part of the world when I heard this awful racket, at first I thought someone was after me with a herd of badly tuned lawnmowers then I realized the din was from above. Looking up (isn't that sooo uncomfortable these days?), and then lying down, I could hardly believe what was up there. There was 3 or maybe 4 triplanes, and what looked like a recon type biplane (lots of windows and a Sainsbury's trolley for undercarriage), and worst of all at least 3 of them were sporting German insignia. I couldn't tell from where I was, but I imagine most of Haslemere were putting on their tin hats and heading for the bunkers. I quickly phoned a friend in Berlin and asked him what the word on the streets was, but he couldn't (or wouldn't...) tell me anything. That was two days ago, and as far as I can tell Surrey isn't yet in the hands of the Hun, so maybe Haslemere's residents are back out in the daylight now, mind you, you can't be too careful though.
The planes looked fantastic!
H
Hmm, I'm not sure if I'd be flattered on insulted if someone told me I had undercarriage like a Sainsbury's trolley. I think I'd be flattered, not sure about Sainsburys though.

Wotcher guys n gals, - yep, got to get back next year. I'm tempted by the classic (again) this year, I'm going to have to do a bit of homework and see if I can get down. In a sort of James Brown way. All this talk of Brethren parties, burnt sausages and torrential rain is making me come over all emotional. H
