48  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2018 Concert on: May 16, 2018, 10:16:33 am
Jamiroquai concert now moved into the circuit instead of MMArena and free.
Tickets for the MMArena show will be refunded.

Quote
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest and its partner, Le Mans Stadium, organisers of the special concert initially scheduled for the MMArena, have decided to move the show to the very heart of the circuit and the stage near the Dunlop bridge on Friday 15 June. A real bonus for fans at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

Thanks to Le Mans Stadium’s support, Jamiroquai is to top the bill in what is now a real festival of music at the circuit for 24 Hours fans with a Race Week General Enclosure pass.

The ACO already gave passholders an extra treat last year by offering racegoers free access to the 24 Hours Museum. That was a huge success and will be repeated this year.
The concerts are one of the highlights of this year’s Race Week with FOUR musical soirées at the circuit including Arcadian, revealed in Season 5 of the French version of The Voice on Wednesday, iconic British group Dr Feelgood on Thursday, Scottish rock band Texas on Saturday, and now the big Jamiroquai gig on Friday!

Lucky holders of a Race Week General Enclosure pass score a very special concert at no extra cost!

Meanwhile, anyone who has purchased a ticket for the Jamiroquai concert at MMArena can ask for a refund or can use the ticket to attend the concert (standing only) in the 24 Hours circuit enclosure. If they go for the second option, they will also be able to enjoy the world’s greatest endurance race and see all the other concerts at the circuit!

The ACO won't admit it, but apparently they hardly sold any tickets for this concert.
49  Club Arnage / Newswatch / Nadal official starter at Le Mans on: May 14, 2018, 05:24:36 pm
Spanish tennis champion Rafael Nadal is to be the race starter for the 86th 24 Hours of Le Mans on Saturday 16th June 2018. The phenomenal sportsman is a fitting ambassador for the iconic race.

Nadal often visits France in June for the French Open at Roland-Garros in Paris, which he won for the tenth time last year. He will be back to defend his title on the clay courts of Paris, with the firm intention of adding another trophy to his cabinet.  This year though, he’ll be staying a little longer. The exceptional tennis player’s career is about to pursue a new avenue, as official race starter of the 86th 24 Hours of Le Mans.

53  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Aston Martin LMP1 on: May 08, 2018, 02:33:40 pm
Aston in F1 is pure marketing as it's a rebranded Renault engine.  Can't see AMR going into F1 as an egine supplier now they're moving on to Mercedes AMG engines for their own cars.

We'll know the next regs for wec & LM in June.  I just hope the French won't f*ck it up as they did last year.  If they slash the pirvateer times again, it's over and done woth LMP1.  Guess LMP1 with a spec hybrid system should be on the cards as this is could have the attention of several manufacturers.  Also keeps Toyota happy who insist on continuing with hybrid LMP1's.  A cost capped spec system can also be available for customer/privateer teams and might be used in IMSA for the DPi's.

No hyper cars in LMP1 for me, should stay as a pure prototype class. Not really a fan of the "gt-shaped" lmp's as they raced in the end of the 90's/early 00's.
