In some sort of order...
1. Helicopter ride over the track during the race. 2. Friday afternoon & evening in our favourite spot in town for the drivers parade. 3. Seeing the Aston pull out of the pit to complete the race 4. Fireworks display at the HA roundabout on Sunday night 5. A drunken lass walking over to us on HA to tell us her knickers were wedged "...up her crack" !

Fortunately we weren't too near the scooter guys but they were constantly zipping passed. All good fun if you're not camped next to them, but I can imagine it wouldn't be fun to be next to them the whole time! Didn't have anything going walk about but Sunday afternoon there were a few pikeys scavenging items from the rubbish bags left behind by the early leavers. Didn't look like they were eyeing up stuff that wasn't in bin liners though.
Quite a few vans driving round looking for left over BBQ's and garden furniture though. Always best to keep your 'f*ck off' tape maintained throughout.
I did think the motorised sofa was a top class effort. Indicators, break light, little side lamps! Fantastic!
The Lotus guys beer bottle mountain was first class. It could be seen over the top of a transit van it was so high!
Nothing has put us off being in HA, but perhaps we've just been lucky.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Thursday Night on HA

We were camped up next to the huge Lotus collective on HA by the roundabout, and at about 1am Friday morning apparently a vehicle drove to the gravel outside the shower/loo blocks and span a couple of doughnuts out...
Unfortunately the gravel it kicked up pebble dashed quite a few cars leaving at least 5 with broken windows including a Porsche and a Skyline, and many others with damaged paintwork.
Does anyone else know any more details?
Shocking behaviour of course and my sympathies go out to all those who sustained damage.

The Fred Dibnah memorial tour got off to a shaky start...nothing quite so unfortunate here, but we arrived at the Pompy Dock to get a call that we'd left one of the mountain bike seats in the street when we left... fortunately that was only a 15 minute round trip to make the ferry so no real drama.
...the drama came on Friday night after the Drivers parade... it was gone midnight, we were pretty well hammered and made our way back to where we locked our bikes up. By the time four of our five had found it, we were completely unaware that our number 5 was missing in action. A few attempts to locate him failed and our spirits were a little down when it transpired a French student who had joined us for most of the evening had stumbled across our fallen soldier in the main square just spaced out - half a bottle of wine in his hand and only just able to walk!
Following a couple of attempts to put the soldier on his bike failed with some very poor demonstrations of balance, some disagreements with the laws of gravity and some messy bike-chain arguments we had to bundled him onto a cab I escorted him back to base camp. We couldn't leave a man down in the field after all!
I've never seen somebody looking so rough in the morning in all my days! Although the 38 degrees in his tent for most of the morning probably didn't help him much.
On to better things... Sunday, Fathers Day, and 4 of us opening the cards/gifts from our little ones. then came the big surprise... In one of the most generous gestures I've know, Gaz had booked all of us in for one of the Helicopter flights!! Absolutely fantastic! Seeing the cars flying down the Mulsane going even faster than the chopper was fantastic!
HA roundabout on Sunday night saw a £750 firework display, all set up under the lampposts and trees for maximum danger factor! Thanks to those guys for an excellent display!

Same here unfortunately. Due to get to Pompey around 6pm Wed. for a couple of jars in the Rudmore Cellars before the ferry departs at 8:30pm.
We have to load up the motor home once we all arrive in Southsea ready to check in about 7:30... see you on the ferry!

Having seen the old "Smoking is gangerous for your health" messages change to "SMOKING KILLS!" over the last few years, I saw a new slant on it down the pub the other day. Someones packet had "SMOKING CAUSES A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH!" Makes a good pub game if there are a few smokers... the person with the weekest warning on their fags goes to the bar... Play it now though... soon won't be able to smoke in bars!!

I notice you say OFFICAL HOOK UPS have you been reading the posts on here regarding the power supply on mb???
I have seen some posts warning quite rightly, that to tamper with other unofficial electrical sources should be avoided... unless suitable qualified It's a war zone out there... adapt, improvise, and overcome... Or get a nice jenny who will sit quietly in the corner providing the necessary surges...

Hi M1lky24, Yes, we're planning on getting our camper van in HA, didn't realise there could be a restriction!! This could kinda scupper our plans if they don't let us on, but I don't think it's mentioned on the ticket?!
