Saw no leaks in either of mine Barry - I have the 4 berth which Debby used and the 6 berth which I was in. I do have the flysheet for the bigger one.

I bought back the bigger one (10 x 8 I think) from Florida last year, got it on Amazon at a really good price ($117.58, delivered to a Florida resident) but had to pay for an additional piece of luggage. it still worked out considerably cheaper than buying it here. I got the fly sheet for about $15, it was a return on Amazon.com.

The smaller one I also got through amazon.com with UK delivery, it hit an all time low price of £67.20 and shipping was £23.36, plus Import fees deposit so the whole lot cost £108.67. (use http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/  to track Amazon prices and get alerts)

I had read about them leaking but as I say, haven't seen it yet - and they were used in pretty wet weather last August at a festival. I guess I should treat them with something. They really are quick to put up and take down...
To be fair,  youcould have taken a direct lightning strike and had your tent pitched upside down and not noticed any leaks in this years storm Geoff. Good chat about Curvette Racing in with the low flyers...

As you know Ian I have the Coleman equivalent and a very fine tent it is - it really is a one minute set up. Recommended!!
yes it wil be my replacement for next year, will take less space. May be we need some storm anchors for the gazebo as well, I'm not sure you were actually aware of the fine job you did holding it down in the Thursday night storm thorough.;-).

As I mentioned before, we combined a family holiday with LM this year. In the past, as the kids grew up, we had some great holidays in France so it was a good opportunity for us all (11 of us). We often used Eurocamp either in a tent or a mobile home, we always found the sites good, clean and with great facilities. So given  that Brads little ones are are 3 and 10 months and their cousins are 3 and 4 we needed a good family site, not far from a port and ideally on route to LM. So last October I reserved 3 mobile homes on this site
http://www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/normandy/nr011-chateau-lez-eaux/ataglance.html with ferries on the Portsmouth Cean route, out on the 6th and back on the 18th. This meant Brad and I could head out to LM on Thursday, have a nice quiet and relaxed race weekend, know that Caroline and the boys were sorted so we could return on Sunday. It worked well, the site was great , it was less than 2 hours from the port and about the same to the track.
Given the Euro football next year it may be worth looking at as they will have a pre allocation of ferry crossings at a better price, bookings will start in October.

On route back to the ferry we had a diversion to COURSEULLES-SUR-MER to see one of Lorna's Grandads DD Tanks (He was the Technical Director of Strauslers the company that designed and built the DD Tanks).

JUNO BEACH. At 0730 hours 6th June 1944, the 6th Canadian Armoured Regiment (First Hussars) in support of the 7 Canadian Infantry Brigade of the 3 Canadian Infantry Division, assaulted and overpowered enemy defences between Courseulles-sur-Mer and Bernieres-sur-Mer. This tank, recovered from the sea nearly 27 years after launching, is dedicated by the First Hussars, to the memory of all who participated in this operation”.

Typically now the main event in the world is over Clas Ohlson  have these Ear Defender Radio's at less than half price http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Radio-Ear-Defenders/Pr409565000?showRatings=true also this 4 man (1 man in comfort) http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Asaklitt-4-Man-Tent/31-8240 tent looks good (shame about the colour) similar to a Coleman and with a 4000 hydrostatic head should even stay dry in one of Le Man's storms, at half the price of a Coleman even better

I lost mine in a storm in 2008/9, so yes please, maybe a progression from the previous runs would be good.

I agree with Barry, the FT/PH compound (we called it Stalagluft Pistandbroke) wasn't any bigger than two years ago and this time they actually allowed for a path round it at the bottom end as well as along the road

Made it better overall, that did

It would be good if TL managed to get us camping on the eastern side but it really wasnt too bad over there on the western bloc and we Messy Houx Annexers were not too badly served

We had both blocks of bogs/showers on OUR side this time  Wink

I never understood why the compound hasn't been swung around 90 deg so that it backs on the the airport fence with the bogs / showers across the front, it would be so much better for all. I got 3 really good showers hot with good pressure, but it was at 5.45am  and no other idiots were up a that time, this is cos that's what time my body demanded I get up, then back for a couple of hours of relax and kip until the rest of the chaps woke up!

Rhino/Ian - it was great to meet you.  Combining a family holiday and Le Mans is inspired!

Euro2016 looks like it could hit us.  Typically, I book Brittany Ferries - I've just checked - I booked 2016 the 5th Aug 2015.

Does anyone know when they actually go on sale?

Aricus
