To the problem of taking fresh beer to the track: Last year there were checks for beer at the main entrance and the one beginning of the start / finish straight.
However, no one bothered about it at the Maison Blanche entrance, at least not whenever I walked in.
The rest of us hatch devious and complicated plots to get booze in and you lot just casually walk in with it.
Only the Germans can do something completely open and above board, technically break the rules and yet still win! I take my hat off to you sir! 😀

Where can you get a fresh beer? You can’t take it in with you and the crap they serve in there is foul beyond belief. Now if you’d said join us with a fresh vodka and coke 😀

So, shorts T-shirts and Sun cream, supplemented by jeans a sweatshirt and waterproof coat needed then.......

Galoshes*. You must remember to pack your galoshes.

* nobody knows what galoshes are, but you’d be a fool to forget them.

Usual gig for us. Zarses L and A, out 0830 Wed Portsmouth-Caen , directly to Camp Carnage on BN, camping with Team Robbo.

Returning Le Havre-Portsmouth Monday 1700, following a pleasant luncheon in Honfleur.

Locomotion will be provided by 6.4 litres of Jeep SRT insanity.

I should add we will be traveling with Rex and Brad in another car.
.   Is Rex now coming again? Last I heard is that he wasn’t going and Brad was coming back with me.

Yes, only found out today. He’s broken his ankle, so yes you and Wooly have Brad and me and Leigh get a nice quiet crossing 😂

Thanks chaps. Hallelujah to such miraculous transformations and hypothetical beverage based errors.

We had a similar problem in Australia for the Ashes whereby it was only possible to purchase 3.2% lager in the GABBA, or what we called expensive piss. So each morning we accidentally marched in with a litre of vodka in a water bottle and a large bottle of Coke. We were warned, if caught, there was an on the spot fine of $200. We decided this was still cheaper than buying their piss. And of course nobody even bother to check the bottle...

97 and 98, covers band Grand Prix Action. Suspiciously branded a bit like Marlboro.

Is there a fine if, theoretically, one was to be foolish enough to accidentally  fill a mineral water bottle with say a clear alcoholic liquor such as vodka and take it into the circuit. And get caught.

It’s on my hit list next year too. 2009 was my last visit.
40  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Show and Tell: What Pet/s Do You Own? on: October 22, 2017, 12:59:18 am
I own a pet badger named Kumkwat. I keep him in an old washing machine in the garden. He loves to look through the porthole glass and it has its own wheel, he likes the slow wash cycle best. He eats toast, nougat and biscuits, plain of course as chocolate is poisonous to badgers. He is morbidly obese. I used to have a weasel but he was no good. He chewed up my Kensitas and bit my finger once too often so I had to stamp on him.

It was a pleasure and privilige to have a short ride in your most spendid Gentlemans Conveyance on Friday afternoon, saving us a hot walk to Beausejour, very much appreciated, thank you.  It also ticked a box for me in that I got to ride in a car flying a Stn Cdrs Pennant! Delighted you made it there and back with no more than would be considered entirely appropriate levels of maintenance.  The Elan (1968) must go to Le Mans next year in her 50th year!
A pleasure Sir! Look forward to seeing the Lotus next year.
42  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: What a finish for Aston Martin on: June 22, 2017, 04:34:35 pm
Yes the last hour of the battle was awsome and a small piece of Aston Martin racing will forever be in our pub.
Nice work Sir, missed you this year!

He was marvellous. Five pints of water, one of oil and an average of 18mpg. Providing we kept moving and had the roof open it wasn't even ridiculously hot.

Negotiations have been completed successfully and I have in my hand a piece of paper bearing the signature of Herr Hitler... or if not Herr Hitler someone else. Which will do for me.

We sail with the Tide, and other leading brands of detergent.
