31  Club Arnage / 2014 / Christmas giveaway! on: December 20, 2014, 12:22:00 pm
I am having a bit of a clear out and thought I would offer here before they go to charity!!

1 x Club Arnage flag (I think probably from the second run - but not sure its ever been flown!)
1 x Club Arnage navy polo (L) - worn to a couple of LM meet ups but good as new
1 x DFH black polo (the one with the Johnny Walker style design) (M) - not sure if its ever been worn.

Just pm address details if you want any of these.

Happy Christmas everyone and here's to an exciting and safe year of motorsport in 2015.  I am fully converted to motorcycle road racing these days, so "safe" is probably a bit optimistic.

shame seems to be london only

They deliver up north too Kev - I have been using them for a few years!!!

Delivery and packaging (particularly for chilled foods) is really excellent and not too expensive.

I gotta say - the products actually do taste just as good in Manchester and some even better benefitting from reliable refrigeration!!!!

I thought I had already done it - but done again!

I saw it zipping by a few times and preparing to set of for a flyer from the Creg one day.  It gets a bit of a run up before the timing starts (ie already doing 150+ mph!) rather than a standing start from Glencrutchery Rd like the bikes/sidecars!  Sidecars definitely more exciting to watch though... you can see the whites of their eyes!

Its all a bit controversial with the TT diehards though - 2 wheels good - 4 wheels bad!

I dont think they will ever forgive racing being delayed when it ploughed into a bridge one year.

..... I'll get there eventually now I'm a man of leisure.   Cool

Have you thought about going to the Manx (or whatever they call it now) - its on the mountain course and I have heard some really good things about it - I thinks its around August time.

I marshalled at Joeys, Union Mills, Appledene and Handleys Corner - all great spots and other than Union Mills all pretty much spectator free!

TT is later next year - even closer to LM - unless LM is later too!

Which one are you going to Stu?

Doris

It was certainly interesting.... turned out to be not at all what I had expected!

The campsite was completely silent by midnight - with security patrolling and putting a stop to any noise or naughty behaviour!  (and I had been told I was on the "party site" and not to expect to get any sleep for a fortnight)!!  It was like a vicarage tea party compared to LM!!

I am booked for a shorter visit next year - just practice week and first 2 days racing.  The full fortnight was too long for me really - though it was a bit different this year as they had carried over races every day during race week which wasnt ideal as there werent any completely free open road days to go and do the touristy bit!

I marshalled for practice week and one of the carry over race days which was fun - in an "eeek why I am standing here with just an orange vest for protection" kind of way!

IoM a great place though - I am back again in a couple of weeks for the Southern 100 - it uses a shorter road circuit not over the mountain road and group starts.  That is more my kind of road racing than the single starter "time trial" style of the TT itself.

Its a shame that the TT/LM dates are so close together really.

I've booked a house with a pool nearby for the Thursday and Friday nights. Going to enjoy a more civilised trip next year!

Yikes - you getting all sophisticated in your old age Si?!

I have a deposit down on the ferry to go back to TT again next year so LM is looking unlikely - or maybe just a short visit.

All good here - managed to sleep through the night on the sofa!!

Now on second coffee of the morning.

Track outside my window is dry, so will be off to the allotment soon!

Good to see Dr McDreamy is still going.
