Tristan and I (his dad) will be arriving Wednesday - we're on Houx. Tristan is 12, and on his third Le Mans. Apart from Le Mans, his specialist topics are The Beano (1938-2013), and Dr Who - if you see a young lad wearing a red fez, say Hi! - or you can ask him if the next Doctor will be a woman, but bring a chair and a beer, as the answer may not be short . Tristan is here. I hope he will get me back on Friday night. He's wearing either a fez or a purple felt "Harry potter" type hat. If you see him, just say "Hi Tristan"!

We're in Maison Blanch. Got given a huge bag when we arrived "for cans". The guy said no bottles, but no searching. We brought back a case of glass bottles later, no searching. We went in the gate by the main entrance by foot and we were searched for bottles and alcohol. So it's very variable so very French, so ACO!

Today's the day - Dependable Tristan (11) and his less trusty father will be on the Pompy ferry tonight - if you see us in the bar, tell Tristan to go to bed (he wont)!

Just Tickets mailed me on the 4th to say
"Alcohol, the ACO also advise that due to problems with alcohol last year, bottles within campsites are fine, but please do not take glass bottles, into the General Admission area."
I guess that that means that for those of us in Mainson Blanch, no bottled wine, just cans!
But are they really going to search my car going in?

I love alfas too. And in my experience they are more reliable than big Peugeots. I've been waiting for my BMW to blow up, at least I will feel that the money I pay each year for he extended warranty was worth it. I love TVRs too, and you can fix them with Super Glue!

Just checked the tent, three days before leaving.......and we are one pole section short! Better to find out now than at Maison Blanche! (But where can it be - Arnage?)

Club Arnage / Just To Say Hi / Hi from me and my apprentice nerd

Hi!
I'm on my 3rd Le Mans, but first on CA. This year I'll be attending with 4 friends and my son Tristan - my apprentice nerd.
The deal with Tristan (10 years) is that he can only come along if he becomes a Le Mans nerd - he is already a successful Dr Who nerd and I'm going to try to add a nerdism each year, starting with Le Mans. Unfortunately, so far all he knows is that (a) he can lap LM on Grant Tourismo in less than 5 mins, (b) sips of beer tastes good (as he's still too young to drink, it'll be his job to get me home) (c) mad Friday looks "cool" (not quite the way I would describe it), (d) he must not let his father get a speeding ticket or else he's paying.....and that's a lot of Beanos (oh, that's another nerdism)
We'll be at Maison Blanche - say hi if you see us (one of us will be on a Nintendo DS), or if you have a pressing Dr Who or Beano question (1960-2011) just ask!
Ian
