1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Arnage banking RIP on: June 23, 2016, 07:51:48 am
We were there on Sunday morning and went all the way to the banking at Indy. Despite the worries that came up when the rebuild was announced I'm really impressed of the result. Good to see that the ACO did a great job there. It's well worth a trip out there.
2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Nürburgring WEC roll call on: August 07, 2015, 07:50:32 am
Mhhh... the Belcar 24hs at Zolder is at the same weekend and to be honest for me this is more appealing at the moment.

Why oh why do they start the race at the Nürburgring as late as 13:00 on Sunday lasting until 19:00 ? And after the race you have the usual chaos getting to the A1 or A61. People have to work on Monday. The usual ignorance of the Nürburgring organisation shines through very bright. Why don't they have the race on Saturday ? Oh yes, who needs spectators if you can fake the attendance figures.

The Zolder 24hs are nearly the same format, GTs mixing it with prototypes. Albeit at a lower level but you still have the same mix of classes. Let's make it a "small Le Mans" which starts on Saturday at 16:00. Tickets are cheaper too and you can camp there.

6 Hs of Nürburgring - http://www.nuerburgring.de/events-tickets/automobil/fia-wec-6-hours-of-nuerburgring.html

I clearly prefer Zolder... and I haven't been there for ages.

If that takes place at all... Apparently, the Nürburgring date is already blocked by the ADAC GT Masters. See link below.

Did anyone from here post this video named "Porsche 919 and Audi R18 LMP1 Cars at Sebring" ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyM79Nq9cUA

The voice at 38 secs into the video and again at 48 secs sounds familiar. Have fun and thanks a lot and enjoy. The 919 sounds a bit disappointing -
or is it just too fast. The Z4 noise is nice but that won't be at LM.

It's a bit busy because the whole lot of traffic is going through... no, not cars but people pi$$ing all about ? I've never camped there. Also, isn't a bit far away from all the partying for you.I would try to stay as close as I can.
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Great read on: February 06, 2014, 09:26:44 pm
Very good read, indeed. But what a brutal tall to pay and not a few of them got classified as non finishers... in a total wreck... ... WtF... haha... Hubert Hahne all in there (visit his brother Wilhelm's site www.motor-kritik.de for all the nonesense that goes on at the Nuerburgring)... and Wilbert Kauhssen (who will have his 75 birthday sometime in March this year). Wow, and the Kelleners... Thanks indeed, Nick... great read, great motorsport history... Even if that is nothing that our PC world could ever live with. They did... heros... indeed... amen.

Thanks Kristof... I'm pleased to see you have all your extremities in the place they should be again... The medical car came round at Les Combes where we were at this moment and I was afraid that it was something BIG. Good on my little group because later on we were in the pits and had a free pit stop of the No 26 car... Strangely, there was no food/drink stall/circuit radio in the outer spaces. From a spectator's view it was like... what, 3 years ago, when the power went down during the race. NASCAR couldn't make it worse.

Kristof, was that the No 25 "moment" ? Looks very much like it. What happened ?

Did I just read there will be a small party ? Well, then I will be there too. Grin

Good idea Steve... A little cross on the shirt with her login name ? Honestly thinking...
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Toyota wins 5th round of WEC - Sao Paulo on: September 17, 2012, 08:43:55 pm
Very well done to Toyota in their third race, a big thumbs up... I hope there's more to come. This shows that they belong into sportscars, not F1. 1 minute over 6 hours means 4 minutes over 24. That's more than a lap, the formation lap. I hope Audi is getting some ground. I want a 2011 in 2013, please.   Cool
12  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Dreaming or wishful thinking on: September 17, 2012, 08:20:40 pm
I wouldn't be surprised. After all, they've been doing the VLN in his P4/5 special since two years now. This man seems to have AAA lot of money.
(I'm ready to being adopted. HGB Glickenhaus doesn't even sound bad.  Wink )

The sketches look a bit like the Mazda concept car from a few years back crashed into his VLN P4/5. Well done... It seems to be the same P4/5 from the VLN but adapted to the LMP rules.

Yeah, bring it on...    Cheesy

Rest in Peace Deb.

Stay strong Ian.

I'm lost for words... RIP Debs. One good soul that leaves the earth.

I was sitting there speechless and pensive when I got the message... and I still am.

Not sure how I can help and what I can do, Ian.

My dearest condolences. A very sad day.

Aaarrghhh, thanks for these. You're just rubbing the salt into my flesh   Wink

Sadly, I had to work last weekend and the week before.
Great news though: I didn't get wet. I hope you got soaked...  Grin
