16  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Senna on: July 30, 2012, 09:01:37 pm
I just saw the trailer of the film on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOzq927y15o) and it shows footage which I have seen before, and commented in a better way. The Top Gear documentation is ok but maybe this is due to Clarkson trying to be cool and younger than he is. This is better, more insights, youtube for "Ayrton Senna - The Right To Win". Well, he went into the wall at Imola without any sign of breaking. Has the world just lost another Jesus Christ because he was just "above" the car in that moment to see if all is well ? Or not... I can't say. I have no personal memory of him. Still, very sad and just wrong to see someone die in a race car.

BTW, great dicussion so far... I like that.

This is the end, my only friend, the end...  Undecided

Very sad now... but I'm looking forward to what sidestep Henry has in place for next year. He somehow always made it after all.  Wink  Please...  angel

That's great Debs and Rick... do you mind me posting these pictures to Jens ?

They had a few problems... not just the power shut down at night, but also a broken stearing and suspension and a couple of puctures which threw them back.

Still, they managed to get home without any accident which is a honourable result for their first try. More to come, hopefully. I would like to see Jens, Jan-Dirk and Oliver in an amateur LMP2 attempt at LM.

Uhh, ohh, first goal for Italy.

Thank you all, Jason too (LM please). Good night.

I wonder if Audi is behind this ? I talked to an Audi guy on Good Friday and he said that there will be "something BIG" next year... and I doubt he knew about the DfH plans ? Whatever, we will have to move closer as it looks like, or walk longer miles... or use camp site taxis as I did this year. Thanks guys, whoever drove the Mini.  Wink

I'm looking for pictures of the #45 Boutsen Ginion Racing Oreca, especially with Jens Petersen at the wheel (that's the blue - white - red striped helmet).

Please let them come...

Oh crap, not now... that is not good at all! I hope it heals very well so that at least the Classics get on target. There will be some beers drunk on you in the LeMansZone compound. Make a quick recovery.
25  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Nuerburgring 2009 - Things are starting to escalate on: February 20, 2011, 12:40:23 pm
Hi all,

As some of you may know, 4 years ago the government of Rheinland-Pfalz started the Nuerburgring 2009 project. Since then, nearly 400 million Euros have been wasted on a mostly empty shopping mall, a leisure park which nobody visits, a hotel that threatens the local operators, a useless party village, the fastest roller coaster in the world which never worked, a holiday resort village that nobody needs and other worthless crap - all on tax payers expenses. Click the link to get an overview of what was built at the Nuerburgring http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=178657592178715&set=a.159876854056789.32653.159738787403929&ref=nf.

There's a very comprehensive TV documentation (with English subtitles) in four parts done by the German WDR TV channel. It's roughly 3/4 years old but explains the background of the whole drama very well. Click on the links to watch part 1  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvHYc4AZIlc&NR=1, part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsabgmKxOSc&NR=1, part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwKJiBOM5VI&NR=1 and part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GWPDbJ2xcc&NR=1.

Also watch the "Safe the Ring" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbf7VsZ1Hx0&feature=related documentation which was just recently issued by the SWR TV channel.

Please sign the online petition http://www.gopetition.com/petition/41698.html to bring this travesty forward to the EU. Please also follow the links in the petition to keep yourself informed.

@ Smokie and Steve: Can this be made a sticky please.

Thank you,
Hansgerd

There was still enough room, about the width of a paper sheet  Undecided

Holly crap... I haven't seen the race and certainly not this picture before but this looks rather like an assault  than a racing line.  Roll Eyes

Thats better.....Scummi and Merc have a long history with its routes roots in Sports Car and Touring cars, can't see that the cheating scheming git would not be involved and that would not be good for the sport....unless your German that is (only because national pride would allow you to over look his bad side).

corrected for smelling

And I thought that was for spelling. My eyes don't deceive me yet. Ok, I'm out of here...
