1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2018 - Count down to Le mans on: January 01, 2018, 11:51:59 pm
I remember it well
2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Question: Bringing drinks to the track? on: June 09, 2016, 07:31:09 pm
Last year, probably due to Le President ( aka twat ) waving the start flag, all that the security staff were checking were chair bags, presumably for sniper rifles.  Grin

Also remember the vast majority of the crowd is French, and not being able to get a bottle of wine into the circuit for lunch would be an affront to their civil liberties

That would constitute an affront to anybody's civil liberties to be fair.

Tickets arrived this morning.  Always a good thing when preparing for the trip.
4  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Le Mans App on: April 29, 2016, 03:50:08 pm
I am thinking of downloading an App for the race to access official timings/classifications whilst track side.  Has anybody tried any of the various offerings before? Any recommendations?

Sounds great.  Thanks for the clarification.

Well I, for one, am very encouraged by these pictures.  If I am interpreting them correctly we should be able to get a really good view of the fast, sweeping approach looking from the new banking back towards Mulsanne - is that right?

Very pleased to hear it. Thanks for the update. Will be in that neck of the woods myself tomorrow...

As I've gotten older (I'm 53 now) I have found that I have a ever decreasing tolerance for discomfort, roughing it in field, packed in a crowd like sardines, etc. For me that will be what determines when taking in racing in person is no longer in the cards
I know exactly what you mean. For the last few years we have been taking a caravan down to make it easier for our ageing bones. When we first started we sniffed at people with tents as we grabbed an hour or two of sleep in the back of the car (if we felt like it). Then we succumbed to tents and now the caravan. My Dad would not approve...

The year before last we walked a 'lap' starting at Mulsanne (well, the bit from Porsche curves to Tertre Rouge was through the Village but it was the best we could do). Mulsanne to the Porsche Curves was certainly open to cyclists then and we saw plenty heading that way last year too.

One thing we we did notice - the Mulsanne straight feels bloody long on foot!

I am sure there will be weather. Come prepared.
11  Club Arnage / 2015 / Re: WANTED - Mulsanne camping on: May 15, 2015, 10:54:28 am
Many thanks for the offer, but I have managed to source some tickets already.

...not sure who Andrew is..?
Hi SChallenge - or should I say Andrew!?

Sorry, a bit slow at the moment. I blame it on the brain tumour that has just been diagnosed... Fortunately not a life threatening one but it is slowing me down. Some (Fax) might say there is no noticeable difference!

Walking and cycling is OK, or at least it has been in recent years...
14  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Tickets have arrived... on: May 01, 2015, 04:21:29 pm
Always nice when they actually fall into your own possession...

Full on planning now.

If you are unable to deduce my opinions on the thread topic from my posts then your intellectual limitations are more serious than I thought.
