Oh yeah, forgot that...

Apparently from Saturday France have closed the border for leisure travel. Plenty of time for that to change though...

It's Noel Edmonds https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Edmonds, He's a well known UK TV presenter of light entertainment programmes. The pic is from Deal or No Deal.

Other than that, I have no idea :-)

Brilliant Bob, glad you made good use of the ACO card (which Tom paid for LOL).

Over the past few years I've come to prefer smaller, less "busy" events, and over Le Mans weekend I was camping with some mates at a Blues weekend at a pub in Worcester. That reminded me how much I no longer enjoy camping too!! But not wishing to sound too negative, if I thought LM would be similar next year it'd be back on my to-do list! (I did pay for Eurosport for the weekend but the bloody thing wouldn't work on the crappy signal we had).

Maybe they staggered sending them to avoid being overwhelmed.

As in I too mailed them yesterday, so 100% of people that we know of ( - and I know of at least one more)  who had received the letter have emailed them.

I got a letter in the post about this, arrived yesterday.

Fax may not be aware of Triggers Broom. It's from an old UK sitcom, a slightly stupid street cleaner says he has had the same broom all his working life, its only had 17 new heads and 14 new handles in it's time.

Sounds quite apt...

Bit belated to this thread - but I'm early enough to wish everyone a better New Year than this one!

I would put my money on Portimao for March.

Ooo that could be good as I'm out there for nearly all of March. Especially as the Nov one seems to have the doors firmly shut now.

Enjoyed that, especially the last hour which was quite lively (but I do always feel so sorry for those teams that don't get to finish when they've achieved so much)
26  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Weather. on: September 20, 2020, 01:45:10 am
I watched a few hours earlier and just watched an hour or so more, they were predicting rain but I haven't yet seen any. Seems there was some pretty close earlier but it didn't reach the track.

We'll be at Armacao de Pera which si probably 30 mins. The reason the website isn't working is that they do not yet have approval to have spectators. If it were my website I'd have put a message up saying so but it just appears broken!!! I guess I just keep trying. Had a look on Maps, the tower looks the place to be!!

NB they are def selling tickets for the GP which is the previous weekend, but only expensive stand tickets are on sale at the moment.
28  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Roll call - September at Camp Carnage on BN on: July 28, 2020, 12:37:50 am
Yes - neither are behind closed doors - the website would be selling tickets for F1 and ELMS if it was working properly - but you select stuff but nothing appears in your basket.

An ELMS weekend ticket is €10 with paddock, or €15 for VIP incl a tower of some sort.

Weekend tickets for F1 have gone but 1 day is €85 for general admission but the grandstands are upwards of €200.

I'm tempted by both really, as we're so close.

I am off to Portugal for Oct/Nov and was happy to see there is a ELMS (or whatever the series is called) just along the road at Portimao while I'm there. And they've now gone and announced a grand prix there the previous weekend!! I hope they aren't behind closed doors. The ELMS race is only about €10 for the weekend!!

EDIT: The official Portimao web site just has an ad at the moment so you can't reach anything but the ELMS site says it'd behind closed doors :-( Which probably means the F1q will be too.

I see the French Open (Tennis) is being held in the open. That must be a Good Sign.
