46  Club Arnage / Help / Re:Simple question - to the experienced LM'ers on: February 27, 2004, 09:27:35 am
Hi Skorpio,

The camping ticket will (if they are like previous years) have a 4-colour patch on it - approaching LM follow the signs for the colour that hasn't been crossed out.

The campsites are (in the main) on public roads (although the gendarmerie usually put up road blocks in random places!) so you only need the camping ticket to get to BSR campsite.

If you haven't pre-ordered them, your race ticket can be bought from any entrance into the track areas themselves. There's numerous entrances (all of which a fair way from BSR unfortunately - I'm on the same campsite!).

You need to pick up a 'contramarque' (pass-out ticket) whenever leaving a trackside area. You then hand this in again when you go back to the action.

sorry haven't got time to find the link for you, but try the sporting regulations available on the ACO website.

http://www.lemans.org/sport/index_gb.shtml - look in the regualtions section.

The prizes are fairly nominal sums - even the 1st prize for the overall winner is only 40,000 Euros. Somehow I don't think that will quite cover the expenses.

They've been taking safety more seriously there over the last few years. I last took a look there 2 years ago and the fences had grown in hight & made less see through so not much could be seen at all.

The noise is incredible though.

Not like it was just a few years ago...

(Apologies for not getting a car in the pic, but they were moving too damn fast!)

Hello all. I haven't posted here for ages - certainly not since the forum got all wizzy. Its good to see some familiar names still chatting away!

Should I be worried if I haven't heard about my camping ticket application yet? After missing last year's event I faxed an order to the ticket office in July. I got an acknowledgement letter almost immediately but haven't heard anything since. I'm sure in the past I've heard by December/January at thge latest. Do I have reason to be concerned, or is the camping pass allocation still ongoing/yet to start?

(Added) If the above is still okay, how likely to succeed is a new application to the ticket office now for some more tickets? Friends of my brother have just decided they fancy going too Grin

Cheers guys & gals.

Try faxing them. I sent a fax to order some camping tickets and got a posted letter (standard responce) in reply the very next day.
