Should I be e mailing or calling the speedway to check on the ticket status or is it usual to not hear anything back after submitting your preferred choices online ? Been told its usually around October or November before they let you know what you have been allocated.

Hi Fax,

Would love to have dinner with you but just not sure we will be able to fit it in, unlessthe WoO get rained off on the Monday.

We arrive on the Friday night at Cinci and are driving straight over to our hotel in Indianapolis. We are staying there 10 nights and then driving to Lawrenceberg / Cincinati on Monday morning assumning the 500 isn't rain delayed. Then Monday evening its the WoO and then we fly home from Cinci early Tuesday afternoon. Maybe a lunchtime slot on the Monday instead ? Or in Indianapolis area after the 500 on the Sunday.

Regards
Chris

Yes, I'll be there too.Going to the 100th running has been the plan for the last 8 years.
All being well, my dad and I have a 11 day racing trip planned. The flights are booked and we have a hotel booked snd paid for about 15 miles from the track  for 10 nights.

We are flying into Cincinati on Friday 20th and fly out from there on Tuesday 31st May.

Planning on Saturday and Sunday at the speedway as well as Legends day and the 500 .

Also doing a full schedule of short track action around Indiana taking in Anderson, Bloomington, Kokomo, Terre Haute, The State Fairgrounds and WoO at Lawrencberg. So a full on racing trip is planned.

I submitted my three preferred choices of ticket locations about a week after this years 500 but have yet to hear anything back from the speedway regarding tickets.

Yes the chap is committed to the trip and has paid half the money up front. So now sorted. Still taking a hit but better than taking an even bigger hit by travelling on my own.

Hopefully found someone via the Nascar Fans UK group on Facebook. A chap from near Kettering, Northamptonshire. He should be able to confirm with me by Saturday.

Calling all Le Mans / Thunder fans. Cheap trip to the Le Mans 24 Hour Race next month.

Due to a change in work circumstances, my friend that was going to be travelling with me to Le Mans next month has had to drop out of the trip to protect his job which is fully understandable in the circumstances.

This however has left me with less than a month to find a passenger for the trip. Certain things had been arranged and booked around my friend coming over from Australia including a day in Paris after the Le Mans 24 Hours and tickets for a Thunder concert in Paris on the Monday evening.

At this late stage I am prepared to offer anyone that wishes to attend the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hour sports car race next month as my travelling passenger, a special deal which is going to cost £140 less than what it will or has cost me. I am prepared to take a hit financially in order to find a passenger to accompany me on the trip because it will cost me far more to just travel on my own as pretty much everything has been booked and paid for and isn’t cancellable at this stage.

Details of the itinerary for the trip and what is included,

Wednesday 10th June - Depart Lancashire travelling in my 2012 Skoda Octavia VRS estate, driving down to catch the Euro Tunnel to France at approx. 5 pm. Drive to Rouen where I have a twin room or family room booked for the night including breakfast at an F1 Hotel.

Thursday 11th June – Drive the two hours to Le Mans, food shop etc, set up camp on Bleu Nord campsite which is approx. a five minute walk to the start / finish line area. Watch the two, 2 hour qualifying sessions 7 – 9 pm and 10pm – Midnight.

Friday 12th June – Explore the village area at the circuit, pitlane walk to see the cars being prepared for the race, then visit the Great British Welcome which is a laid back gathering of old, classic, sports or any interesting cars along with a fair type atmosphere with live music and food and drink stalls. Visit the driver’s parade in the town centre is you wish to do so.

Saturday 13th  – Race day with the race starting at 3 pm but with plenty of build up to the race start and a classic era support race featuring Jaguar D Types, C Types, GT40’s, Ferrari’s etc.

Sunday 14th June – Race finishes at 3 pm, pack up campsite after the race, drive 2 hours to Paris where I have a twin room booked for two nights in an F1 Hotel approx 5 km from the city centre but close to the metro system. Spend a few hours checking out Paris by night etc.

Monday 15th June – Day spent visiting whatever Paris has to offer, then in the evening I have tickets booked to watch my favourite British rock band “Thunder” on their Wonder Days tour which is also in Paris.

Tuesday 16th June – Early start to drive the 3 hours back to the Euro Tunnel for a 11 am crossing. Then drive back through the UK to hopefully arrive home around tea time.

So I am offering a 7 day trip to the Le Mans 24 Hour race, a day in Paris, ticket for the Thunder concert in Paris, including camping at the circuit for 3 nights, 3 nights in an F1 Hotel including breakfast, Euro Tunnel crossing, General admission race ticket, Fuel for the trip, Autoroute / Motorway tolls in France, European Breakdown cover on the car.

I am offering this to anyone that is interested for £200 which is as I said earlier, approx. £140 less than what it has or will cost me. But if I don’t find a passenger it’s a pretty boring journey driving to Le Mans on my own and will cost me a lot more to cover the fuel and toll charges for the trip.

All you need after that is a bit of spending money for food and drinks, souvenirs etc and whatever you spend in Paris etc on public transport and admission charges for any attractions visited.

So if anyone fancies a trip to the best Motorsport race in the World with all the hassle taken out of it, travelling with someone that has been going to the race for 22 years, with a day in Paris and a rock concert by the best live band you will ever see, thrown then, please get in touch with me.

Regards
Chris

Paying an extra 25 Euros to save getting out the car and walking round the car to pay the toll ! Err no thanks, think I'll get out the car and walk round to pay the toll if needed.

As others have said, it was a really good crowd yesterday and the main car parks very nearly full at 10:30 am and they were having to open the grass car parks which I haven't seen open for sports cars for many years.

Personally, although the old character of the track is now different, I actually prefer the new circuit layout and it provides much more opportunities for good photography locations than the old circuit did. Granted this wouldn't apply at a GP but is great for smaller events like sports cars etc.

Still some awesome corners. Copse for example. Just stand on the outside where they start to turn in for the apex and its mind blowing how fast the LMP1 cars are taking that corner.

Sunday only for me.

Status Quo performed at the 24h Moto in 2011, so it is not that much of a stretch of the imagination that AC/DC might play in June.

But did Status Quo ever sell out 72,000 tickets to Wembley stadium in 30 minutes. I doubt it.
44  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: AC/DC on: December 18, 2014, 10:46:14 am
That stage and area isn't big enough for a band like AC/DC, there would be a crush and casualties as a result, so it won't happen.
