I seem to recall a company based in Oxford. Think they were called American Motorhome Rental; can't be sure though. A collegue at work is a shed puller, and he gets a magazine everymonth that has ads in the back, try one of those. Make sure that you put the mag in a brown paper bag as you leave the shop though; otherwise you'll get a nasty reputation.

My own personal view is that you're all missing the point. By the time 4 o'clock comes around on the Saturday afternoon, most of us won't have the slightest clue of what's going on around us, let alone wanting to know what's happening 4 miles across the fields.
Just grab another beer and read the result on the teletext when you get home!
It's just more clobber to carry/break/loose/forget.

38 years old, and I still don't know any better.
Flackwell Heath, Bucks (live the dream !)
Inventor, but others call me a mechanical engineer to the pharmacutical industry.
It'll be about the 12th year this year. 1 or 2 gaps along the way for weddings and kids.
Up 'til now, always gone down on bikes. Normally sports/streetfighters. It's going to be a car this year for the first time. I guess I need to get used to those traffic jams at some stage.
see you all there.

JPC and AZ, you are obviously quite right. A sport that struggles year in year out to rid itself of the tarnished image it has, is now without one of it's true dazzling entertainers. A cheat; maybe. A talent; cetainly. A loss; defianately.
I only wish cycling could clean up and let the real natural born winners win.
RIP Marco.

Wishy,
Was it a bright blue one ? We saw one this morning in Gerrards Cross ( my missus said "look at the colour of that Rover")
This reminded me why I never take her with me in June.

Matt, Haven't checked in for a couple of days......
Even I'm too sensible to be on the ale whilst on the boat over. Particularly in view of biking it down. The boozing only starts once the motor is switched off for the last time on the Thursday lunchtime, in the safety of the campsite! Lost too many friends over the years who believed that the laws of physics didn't apply to them once they'd had a couple of brewski's. Safe journey to one and all.

Matt, hearing what you say about the CRS on their Beemers. We ride bikes down every year (999,996, SP1,R1 etc), and stay quite a long way away from the N138 and such like. We tend to cross ithe N138 at Gace, and take the chance to grab some lunch at the cafe/bar/filling station. I still think we can gice those guys a run for it, with them in their open face lids (flies at 300KMH hurt), tight trousers and the prospect of severe gravel rash from having short sleeve shirts on.
Not sure.....might just play safe and stick to the speed limit.
Then ago.....no.

I guess the only saving grace, is that the agreement isn't due to be in place until July............ That still leaves you (relatively) unhindered to make the trip this year, without the fear of points on your license when you get home. Or just put false plates on the car and out run the little 2CV van with the rozzers in it.

I caught this out the corner of my eye, whilst running out the door this morning. One of the breakfast tele programmes was talking about it. An article in one of the dailies I think. Can anyone throw any light on it ?

What a truly awful image. I have barely been able to keep my coffee and morning biscuits down. This is sure to cause nightmares.
Andy Zarse's story was a cracker though !
