Very funny.....and pretty much true.

Along similar lines, this one made me laugh.

Had the good fortune to attend the 'Company Car In Action' day at MIRA test track 7 or 8 years ago. It's a bit like the Motor Show, but it's meant to be for Company Fleet Managers and the like.
All the manufacturers have their cars on show. You can get into them, look under the bonnet and even drive most of them.
If they have anything a little bit lively, they send you out with a 'proper' driver; letting him display the cars merits.
I paid a visit to the Audi stand and was particularly taken with the RS4. What a piece of kit I thought.
Anyway, sat myself down in the drivers seat and started gripping the steering wheel and fiddling with the controls.
It did cross my mid that the car was a bit scruffy on the inside and bloody filthy on the outside. Been driven hard I thought, everything else was gleeming.
A bloke walks up and is standing there, along side the open drivers door. Cheek thinks me, bit keen isn't he? "Excuse me" he says. "Yes, just a minute, won't be long" says me, not bothering to look up at him.  Trying to turf me out so he can have a mooch around the RS4. "Take your time in that case" I think to myself.
A few seconds later, he looses his patience............
"Can i have my my f**king car back please".
Johnathan Palmers own car............nothing to do with the Audi display.

Thus far, nobody from the racing programme has been laid off. The company who are contracted to supply the staff that make up the team, still have 26 people being paid. Shocked
It's true to say that a descission was due, directly after this years race as to the position regarding next year. To date, there are still a few rumours regarding a defence of the crown.
Lets hope.

Trying to attach some pictures, but the file is too big; 240 roughly when the limit is 100.

Any ideas how I can resize it so it fits?

All constructive suggestions appreciated.

I always take half a tablet when camping at Le Mans.......

It stops me from rolling out of my tent!
971  Club Arnage / Help / Re:Arriving midnight/1am Friday night - any issues? on: June 11, 2003, 03:46:26 pm
You don't need an admission ticket to get onto the campsite; just your camping permit.

Get your general admission ticket the following morning at the sales desks.

You won't have too much in the way of choice regarding your pitch. Take what you can find at this point. The party should be in full swing all around you.

Now other problems that I can think of......just have a laugh!
972  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Trackside weather forecast. on: June 11, 2003, 02:31:11 pm
My sister in law is trackside with Bentley and tells me that the sun is out, it's hot and Bentley are looking good.

Forecast that the team are working to is a shower tomorrow mid/late afternoon, with the possibility of light rain Saturday lunchtime. Expecting it to be dry for 16.00 Hrs.

This may ofcourse change.

Enjoy yourselves.

974  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Why the high Police presence on: June 10, 2003, 01:39:48 pm
All sentiments that I would agree with and echo.

The CRS are present every year. No question. They may be parked up, out of site or a little more high profile as per last year. I'm fairly certain this was due to the football and potential for trouble. As it was, the result was good for England. Had we been stuffed 3 nil, I'm not entirely sure that it would all have been rosy. There are always the minority remember.

To put it into context, can you honestly imagine any sensible event organiser objecting to the presence of a handful of CRS when there are 300,000 people in one place.

The Superbikes always have a few of the 'heavey mob' on hand, as do most concerts, demos, festivals and yes, even car races.

So what, I honestly doubt that any of the readers of this forum have fallen foul of the CRS?

Go and have fun. Just don't give them too much reason to dislike us.
975  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Radio LM on: June 09, 2003, 12:29:49 pm
Does anyone know, is Radio LM being broadcast on the internet.

Also when do they start broadcasting.

I was thinking, if it's going out now, might be a good way to get in the spirit of things before the off on Thursday morning.

Any ideas?

Have a safe journey and a good weekend.
