32  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Simon Bradley - sad news on: July 19, 2011, 07:05:24 pm
Hi all, I haven't been around for a while, but I wanted to let you know some news...

Some of you may remember Simon Bradley who travelled to Le Mans with us a number of times both on his own and with his wife Rachel.

Sadly Simon was diagnosed with cancer at the end of last year and despite treatment he died last Wednesday in a hospice with Rachel next to him, he was 43.

He was a fantastic friend to us and also to Jason, his passing really is a huge loss, he was one of the nice guys.

Hope to see some of you soon, we're hoping to do Silverstone LMS.

Anita & KK

2012 is a Classic year, and for that reason I'm out.

Us too, we might try and do a cheeky trip next year (2011) but will do the Classic in 2012 in preference to the 24 (if funds/work permits)

We won't be there, the puppy dog is poorly and too high maintenance to farm out to someone else.

Have a fab time, I'm really sorry that we won't see you all xxx

I'm sorry I'm so late to this.  What awful news, we are thinking of you at this difficult time, Love Piglet and KK  xxx

We'll be there for the weekend on the marshal's campsite.  I'm planning to Marshal on Saturday and drink beer on Sunday...actually might reconsider which way around as will have to drive home....

I'll have a look at some of the GP info - I think Woodlands is one of the GP campsites.   Apparently for MotoGP there was punter camping out at Club corner which must be a newly created site...

I'll try to see what I can find out...

Thanks all, the person I was asking for has decided not to go after all.

Sadly I shall be at the bleeding GP instead.
39  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: For those of us stuck at home..... on: June 14, 2010, 02:07:49 pm
It was fab...and next year, we'll be back  Grin  (I hope...)

The distance record was from 1971 and had stood at 392 laps (of that track - 5 thousand and something km's).  I think the leaders did 397 laps worth of km's this year.

Eurosport were wittering about breaking the record from 2009, this isn't the proper distance record they did less km's in 2009 than in 1971 but 2009 is the record for THIS configuration of track and that stood at 382 laps.   So lots of record breaking this year!
40  Club Arnage / 2010 / Spare MB Camping Pass for the Classic? on: June 13, 2010, 03:26:47 pm
Does anyone have a spare Classic camping pass to sell?     Pretty please?

The Spyker looks like it should finish, it'll be touch and go whether it is classified but I doubt that they will care!

Hup Holland!  Grin

It's really good to see you back Wishy, you had us all worried.  Take it easy, do what the medics say and look after yourself xxx

Ahh yeah poor Sebastian... Roll Eyes

I wonder if he's paid back his "shunting off Martin Short" bad karma yet....

Hi Bob!!    See you at LMS Silverstone?   We might be doing F3/GT Brands but I'm not sure...

Wet track for the Group C - should be fun!
