Not sure if it would fit on Le Shuttle , but I'd take myself and some mates (and probably still fit in enough supplies for a regiment) aboard the famous Alvis Stalwart:

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Le Mans 1955: An Idea I've Had.
|

I've been discussing the 1955 tragedy over on another forum and something that came up was the apparent lack of a memorial at the circuit that really reflects the enormity of what happened on that dreadful day. As some folk may be aware, all that seems to exist to commemorate those killed and injured that day is a (rather small, in my opinion) plaque, on the pit wall if I remember rightly, and we were discussing whether it would be possible to arrange the production of something more substantial, while remaining tasteful obviously, such as a plinth or cairn with a memorial plaque on it.
I've also posted this up over at Beermountain, emailing the organising bods over at Radio Le Mans and dropping a line to the ACO as well to see what the possibilities and possible problems with such a memorial would be.
Fellow CA members, your thoughts, ideas and opinions?

Surely you mean empty beer bottles, refilled with whatever fluids are close at hand?
Now, now, this is not a Sex Pistols reunion. Filling empty bottle with urine and tossing them at X Factor rejects, while undoubtedly entertaining, would be a little bit naughty as well, methinks. Bottles filled with petrol and lit rags thrown at whoever invented reality TV, on the other hand...

Club Arnage / Help / Re: Using the tram after the race.

I'll be training it in and out of Le Mans Station as well and haven't used the trams before either. I asked a similar question over at www.beermountain.com and got quite a few helpful answers there. I'd expect the trams to be pretty rammed after the race as they're popular with locals as well as foreign racegoers, so I'm planning to buy a weekend pass at the railway station when I arrive which means I won't need to be waiting in line for a ticket and can just get on the first available tram when it's time to go. I've also booked myself on a train leaving Le Mans for Morlaix at 7pm on the Sunday (my ferry sailing is from Roscoff at 0830 on the Monday), so I'd recommend booking your train out (if you haven't already) maybe for a couple of hours after the race ends so that you'll have plenty of time to make the trip (which is about 20 minutes by tram) from the circuit to the main railway station.

Aha, a fellow Plymothian in these parts. Pull up a chair, good sir, and welcome.
I'm from Plymouth as well, heading for Le Mans 2010 (my eighth visit since my first in 1999 (well done BMW that year and congrats to Peter Dumbreck for his impromptu aerobatics, degree of difficulty for that manouvre is the full five stars).
I'll be heading over on the 0800 sailing from Plymouth on the Tuesday and should be heading back on the 0830 sailing from Roscoff the Monday after the race.
