When Le Mans started the Bentlys and the like were the hyper cars of the day.The GT 40,DBs,250gto,D-types the list is endless. Why not again? Still with prototypes.Lets see what happens it might be great.I liked the early 90s with the IMSA cars in the NSX Detomaso and skylines.

Great photos.

Not so sure about the 3-5 second lap time delta between LMP1/LMP1H though.
Jon i wondered as well and found the answer(i think).
LMPH gets 124.9MJ/perlap of fuel energy
LMP   gets210.9MJ/perlap
LMPH gets 80kg fuel/hour
LMP   gets 110kg fuel/hour
Also the non hybrids weigh 45kg less
This works out roughly the non hybrid cars have 69%more fuel energy!
I hope this explains the lack of different times. The Toyotas don't have it that easy.

13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Aston Martin LMP1 on: May 07, 2018, 03:12:38 pm
David King want's to bring Aston back to LM.All the big teams are having meetings with the ACO/FIA future regs. They want LMPs to look a bit more like their road cars but not too much like DPs.Aston need to decide F1 or LMP1.What a decision after their last AMR1.One of "the big teams" is an undisclosed Asian maker (could that be Jaguar?).
