Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Aston Martin LMP1

I believe the F1 project is just a badging exercise, (I stand to be corrected by those who know better) There is, after all, some cachet about being in F1, but I do feel that sportscars are their spiritual home.
A lot of manufacturers want to bring their hypercars to run at LM, can you imagine the McLaren Senna up against an AM Valkyrie? But that is the direction I think the top class will be heading, back to a GT type class. LMP2 needs help. Merge P1 and P2, or remove the hybrid factor - not popular for Toyota, but where is their opposition this year?

Bloody big fences all along the Loop, means a lot of the favourite spectator points are now behind 6 foot fences. TBH, some of those spots needed to be protected, but they wouldn't have helped re the big accident at the weekend, as it was outwards into an area where only marshals can get to

The dress code isn't Goodwood standard and is sporadically enforced. The ACO have succeeded in erasing almost all traces of the old circuit buildings and features, so generating a 'period atmosphere' isn't really going to work. That said, the event is still well worth attending. havn't been to the classic for a while, on ACO site they are offering grandstand seats with views of "large screens" I dont remember there being any coverage "on screen" last time i was there, can anyone who went in 2016 advise please also anyone fell foul of the "dress code police" is this a recent thing ?
thanks Tony
Isn't it still shirt and trousers rather than shorts and Tshirts (certainly for access to pmain paddock etc)
