16  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Campsite Theft - BE AWARE !!! on: June 19, 2007, 02:58:56 am
Oh and whilst I'm getting wound up, the incident where the lad was opening the awning was reported straight away to the one security bloke on duty as the culprit was still aroung. The security bloke did'nt give a toss and said the police would'nt be interested as it was on private land. The annoying thing is, and I hope your reading this ACO, was up to and including Friday night the security was in heavy handed largely grouped form rearding pitches and parking your car over the white line. As soon as race day came there was only one on MB and all he did was guard the Peugeot compound tents at the top of MB.
In eight years of Le Mans MB we have never encountered any problems.  This year they have massively increased 'securite' for the first few days (up to Thursday) and then the scumbags seem to have had a free range.  One of our party lost a set of binos whilst out of their tent on Saturday night, the same night two separte tents were robbed whilst occupied.  Another tent received an attempted entry whilst matey was 'otherwise engaged with a friend of the opposite gender' and sadly before he could get his strides on and acquire a decent 'object' the thieving turd had made off.  If the ACO want to apply security (which we approve of) then it should not just be to administer pitches.  Maybe a universal CA network will need to be established in future if the ACO cannot/are not prepared to act.

Bellend,

Which road, which date?  I was lucky to have some unfortunate in a 355 save me from a pull around 6pm on the A28.

The marked out pitches shuodl be 35sqM.

t,

I thought the pitches were supposed to be 7 x 5m, however, I spoke with a mate who arrived yesterday and he says the pitches vary greatly in size.  MB has been superb for years, only the ACO could try to regiment it (have they a new German director??).

We have one spare MB ticket (Zone D) which came with General Admission tickets.  We need one of the  GA, so we would like to pass on the MB with a GA.  These were bought from the agency 'Just Tickets'. We paid £82 for the MB and £55 for the GA (you can buy GA tickets on the gate for less than than this - I guess around £40 each).  What we paid is over the face value as we went through the ticket agency.  If anyone fancies them for £137 please let me know.  The thought of having to get rid of them on E B*gger does not sit well with me.

Arnie, as it stands we now have 7 (originally planned for 9) so we currently need all 3 passes.  I follow your drift and if this changes I will let you and others know.  By the way we always have a large area roped off by someone who arrives early on so there is room for gazebos, music etc.

We were a party of nine travelling in 3 vehicles, including a Transit to carry all the kit.  Starting South London/Surrey to Portsmouth-Le Harve Weds 15th June 8.30am.  Staying in MB.  We take a fridge/freezer generator etc. etc.  Sadly 3 of the guys now look like they can't make it so I have 3 spaces.  We have a great time but are not real petrol heads.  I was in hospital when I would normally have started organising this so I am one of the idiots who paid OTT on EBugger to be safe.  However when spread over a crowd it it not too criminal.  If anyone is interested in joining up let me know - We split all costs between us. 07710 762118 (Barry)

Myself and various friends always meet up with old mates at Maison Blanche.  Our organisation this year has been terrible (I was in hospital abroad and my friends are close to useless!).  Ideally we need 2 more MB camping passes, but 1 would be a huge step in the right direction.  Of course we are happy to pay out of pockets and we do always take a great sound system and a full size fridge/freezer to offer beer/wine etc. to the world.  If anyone can help please e-mail me or call on 07710 762118.  Many thanks.
