1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2023 Tickets on: December 01, 2022, 08:52:41 am
I had a phone call with Team Langoustine last night: The ACO has informed them that Blue Nord will not be available for camping next year. They will use it for parking. Maison Blanche has already been closed 2 years ago, now Blue Nord will not be availbale, I really wonder what the options for private campers will be.

Did they give your any alternatives to BN Werner?

TL hopes for an allocation on the Hippodrome for us.

And us!

Has anyone ordered tickets from them this year, and if so, have you had a response from them?
I'm happy to respond by message.
Thanks
Gary

4  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Brittany Ferries 2023 Bookings on: August 25, 2022, 07:51:40 pm
Just booked mine. Usual route and times. Out in the Rover Thursday 8th June 8.15am Portsmouth to Caen. Back 4.30pm (or much later if it's anything like last year!) Caen to Portsmouth. Cost £400 including reserved seat, which feels a lot more expensive than last year! I just checked and it's about £60 more than last year.

We didn't have any issues with taking bottles or whatever on to Blue Nord, but our pitches were absolutely covered with glass from previous events. Much of it looked to have been thrown into fires. We also had hundreds of nails (I assume from burned wooden pallets) It really was quite a problem and we spent ages spent collecting glass and nails before we could pitch some of our tents.
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Bleu Nord Camp Layout on: May 31, 2022, 06:38:10 pm
I've now received my six BN camping tickets and would love to know the layout for this year. Does anyone have a map on the pitches. I know that historically someone has kindly done an exel sheet showing the pitches.
Cheers. Gary

I've just rebooked my Brittany Ferries tickets at no extra cost (in fact I previously got a £90 refund from the original booking).
9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Roll call - September at Camp Carnage on BN on: July 24, 2020, 05:21:12 pm
After receiving the latest information that we won't actually know where we're going to be allocated camping (quite possibly not on Bleu Nord) and also perhaps not near our 14 inches of track, we have also reluctantly decided through in the towel for 2020.
Good news is that we may well keep this years ferry bookings and convert the trip to a beaches/driving tour in Northern France.

The Five of us a going to do our damndest to get to the race in September. The restrictions will be a challenge,  but we feel we're up for it.

Note point 4

ACO Statement 17/03/20:

Dear clients, partners and suppliers,

Like you, we at the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) are faced with an unprecedented situation caused by the coronavirus and its sanitary and economic repercussions.

We are doing our best to inform every one of the steps we are taking and are happy to answer questions relating to our calendar of events for the remainder of this year.

This is a critical situation and in the light of the measures announced by the government, our overriding priority is the protection of our staff, volunteers and subcontractors and, in the longer term, the safeguarding of our operations. Two weeks ago, our executive committee set up a task force to monitor this crisis. As a result, we have a plan of action to get through this period together, responsibly.

1. We have issued reminders to staff, relaying the preventive measures announced by the government. Our employees have been working from home since Monday, with the necessary flexibility to enable parents to look after their children. The staff canteen opening hours have also been adapted to suit new requirements.

2. All ACO venues – the 24 Hours of Le Mans museum, karting track, Bugatti Circuit and the Porsche Experience Center – have been closed since the morning of Sunday 15 March and will remain closed until further notice. We shall await government instructions.

3. All events and races scheduled at the Bugatti, Maison Blanche or Karting du Mans tracks or at other ACO venues between now and the end of April 2020 have been postponed where possible.  The 24H Motos scheduled for April will now take place in early September. See this page for the full list of postponed events: https://newsroom.lemans.org/fr/press/coronavirus-le-point-a-date-sur-les-epreuves.

4. We are looking to maintain or postpone events scheduled beyond April. Outright cancellation of our main events is out of the question. On this note, we express our heartfelt thanks for the constructive, positive responses we have received in our effort to find solutions that suit everyone concerned. We have set ourselves the deadline of 15 April to announce our decision concerning our main events this summer, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans scheduled for 13-14 June. You can be sure that everyone at the ACO is doing their utmost to honour contracts and fulfil expectations.

You can rely our unfailing support throughout these trying times. In turn, we know that we can count on your support and understanding at a time when we shall surely need it.

Please take care of yourselves and of others.

15  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Bugger, the Frogeye has sprung an oil leak on: June 12, 2019, 12:50:10 am
First time since 2006 that I'm not taking a Frogeye. The thing has sprung an oil leak, and more than just a drip. Look out for a glum, bored person in his wife's red Kia Rio Sad
