I took Ray Bellm to see a flat that his daughter was buying (he flew over from Monaco). Had a nice chat with him about Le Mans and racing in general. I very rarely get star struck when meeting famous people, but I had butterflies waiting for him to come into the office.
He gave me a couple of good racing tips when I asked him how come endurance racers can keep going so long and I'm knackered after a 90 second Sprint. He said;
1. Don't hold the steering wheel tightly
2. Remember to keep breathing when go go round fast corners!
Sounds obvious but it really makes a difference, especially the breathing bit!

I believe that he is the president of the Mclaren F1 owner's Club too.
Name dropping over, back to the thread.

Many thanks

We usually manage to do both St Saturnin and Mulsanne, though getting out of St Sat is always a nightmare. According to one of the organisers they said that they have it a bit more sorted this year.

What an odd choice of person to model them. I suspect that we're not their target audience

They also though a bit of CS gas might quieten everyone down a bit......it did!

That's who I use, however I believe that if you recommend someone who applies, you and possibly them get a discount/extra credit.
Quite fun last year driving through the toll at 30kph.

Full speed then Gary  Grin Grin

How about this Martini.
From a Sprint I did at north Weald last Sunday:
A time comparison
Aston Martin DB7 i6 Volante 3200S cc best time 87.98
Austin Healey Sprite 1330 cc Best time 89.01
Just 1.03 seconds behind  Grin

Quite fun last year driving through the toll at 30kph. And it saves all the hassle of undoing 3 point harness (in my case) and running round the car to collect the ticket, finding somewhere to keep it till the next toll and then trying to find it, along with the change. Does cost a bit to set up and run, but worth it for me.

Hi Steve,
I'll definitely be there Sunday with the Frogeye parked somewhere in the infield. I may stay for Monday too (overnighting in Solihull) unless I get bored or too wet, or both.
75  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: I do miss proper sounding race cars. on: April 24, 2015, 05:53:49 pm
The sound of that old two cylinder SAAB straining to the very limits in the support race a few years ago was fun Grin
