2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: LM24 Entry List on: February 19, 2024, 05:14:57 pm
Wow, 6 Porsches in the hypercar-class, 7 if the reserve from Proton makes it!

If Porsche can get it built in time then the common thinking is that either the LMGT3 or LMP2 from Proton will get sacrificed to get it into the race.

Besides, I fear that they have been replaced by Isotta Fraschini as the comedy car.

For those with a liking for data - http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?action=stats

Looks like July 2016 was when the decline happened - seem to fall off a cliff after LM that year.

I think this was about the time the FB page started

http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=12546.0 Looks like the group started around April 2015

I pop in most working days to alleviate the boredom  Grin

I'm not a big FaceAche user tbh, I much prefer the mainly informal, on topic and friendly sides of a market specific forum.

Expecting a boost on this forum soon, when the ACO announce ticket sales dates...
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Le Mans 2023 - How was it for you? on: June 20, 2023, 01:39:44 pm
For me there just seemed too many people inside the main circuit and other members of our group felt the same, my wife has limited walking ability and even with a stick many people were just plain rude and inconsiderate tbh, with the volumes inside the circuit that made life difficult for us, but heyho I get it was the centenary and numbers will drop off over the next few years.
Missed our Blanc parking but we had both Expo and Panorama, tried both, Expo was probably the easier walk.  We had Mulsanne camping as usual, just for a R&R location only real camping is on race night. Interestingly numbers at Mulsanne seemed no different to normal to me, maybe a few up but not so bad. Getting from Expo to Mulsanne was a doddle going via Ruaudin three hours in to the race.  We made the decision to watch the end from Mulsanne rather than returning to our grandstand, and tbh I quite enjoyed it.
We bought most of our merchandise on arrival on the 1st June so got most of what we wanted, trying to buy at the circuit was chaos, managed to pick up the last two of the poster tshirts in large on Friday 16th at the museum just before coming home!
Got checked by security at Mulsanne camping for glass on our first visit, they didn't find the bottles as it was only a cursory look, we did find it amusing that bottles were banned but there was a glass recycling bin on the campsite Roll Eyes
Being able to get our ACO wristbands at the Pesage was a plus point.
Race was great Safety Cars not so, but that's just a personal opinion.

A really big plus for me was the variety of engine noises, must have really confused the F1 fans in the crowd Grin
7  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Test Day on: May 24, 2023, 09:55:05 am
As far as the ones I have used, yes, all entrances are open.
ACO Grandstand is open, and quite a few of the others, including Dunlop(Goodyear).
Not sure on Parking, a reasonable amount will be open I'm sure
Arnage & Mulsanne are open, they are usually my first port of call on test day morning.
RLM hasn't broadcasted on FM in the past, but they will be available over the interweb.

In past years test day has been a nice relaxed way of getting a first view of the cars, probably better than the race week practice sessions IMHO.

8  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Is it too early to talk about the weather....thread on: May 11, 2023, 09:37:57 am
The weather forecast will be periods of sun, wind, thunderstorms, rain, locusts, etc. it always is.  The actual weather will be substantially different, it always is. Roll Eyes

9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2023 Concert on: April 25, 2023, 10:46:20 am
I would never go to a concert to watch cars race, so why would I go to a race meeting to watch a concert Roll Eyes

It wouldn't bother me if there weren't any concerts at all.
10  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2023 Tickets on: April 20, 2023, 02:07:32 pm
I think it will be a case of some (alleged) diehards not returning, but also some new ones will be created.

Obviously next years crowd will be back to around recent numbers, although with extra brands in HyperCar and the switch to GT3 (boo) might bring some new fans or retain those that are new this year.

It would be interesting to know if there has been / will be an increase in ACO members, with the earlier onsale option for members it was certainly an extra benefit of being a member for this years race.

One thing is certain,  well as certain as it can be,  there will be a race next year.
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Who, Where, What When etc 2023 on: April 13, 2023, 10:34:29 am

Usual hotel plus Mulsanne campsite for R&R through the week and race night camping.
12  Club Arnage / 2023 / Re: GE & ACO Grandstand Tickets for Sale on: March 30, 2023, 10:18:58 am
Due to reduction in our group, I have surplus tickets for sale at the price we paid:

4 Tickets - combined General Entry and ACO Grandstand   £182 per ticket, plus £5 p&p per transaction

Grandstand seats are in second row at the left of the main ACO grandstand.  Good view of pits and giant TV screen.

Can be sold as a group, or will split

I can be contacted directly on bobmerrybaf@aol.com

You could always put them on the ACO resale site if you don't have any luck - https://ticketchange.24h-lemans.com/content
13  Club Arnage / 2023 / Re: Wanted - 2 Camping Beausejour Tickets on: February 28, 2023, 10:11:45 am
15+ years that 'the five of us' stayed at camping Beausejour and watched the race on Sunday from Arnage.
Unfortunately this year we've found ourselves with 5 GA tickets but no camping spots.

So I am looking for at least one, ideally two, camping Beausejour tickets.

Thanks in advance,
Kristof

There is one on ebay if you hadn't spotted it already, although it is £250!  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165960514666?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=21b79d7a8fd14504b6cbe2ff92e06a36&bu=43032051163&ut=RU&exe=0&ext=0&osub=-1%7E1&crd=20230228013539&segname=11021
14  Club Arnage / 2023 / Re: Wanted GE tickets Resolved by ACO on: January 27, 2023, 10:16:12 am
Congrats!
It sounds like there are still the odd few tickets not getting paid for and so returning for general sale, I guess you were lucky to be on a list of members with a Members Area Pass and at or near the top!
15  Club Arnage / 2023 / Re: Wanted GE tickets on: January 23, 2023, 01:58:33 pm
As per other people looking for any spare GE's.
Two epinettes camping and aco members area access passes already bought and as per every other year we'll get the ge's later (Well that's worked out well for us)

Have you tried contacting the ticket office? As a member I had an email before Christmas that said;-
"If you have reserved Members Area passes but have not purchased tickets, please contact our ticket office as it reopens in 9 January".
