Buying a car company is the cheapest part of the deal! It might be £10 for Rover or £450mil for AML, but the principle is the same, you still need another god knows how many hundreds of millions to keep it going and develop new models. AML has had many owners through out its history with most of them ending up pennyless! I can't see that Prodrive could fund either the purchase or the ongoing requirements, but I could see them being the partner to someone or some corporation with deep pockets! I just hope that whoever ends up buying AML doesn't think they can make a lot of money out of it, cos untill recently AML had never made any money in its entire history! Still only time will tell!!!!

The reason the Chinese aren't using the Rover name is that it's now owned by Ford! Asset strip TVR , I doubt that there were any assets to strip, in fact from what I hear I think it was the Russion who got asset stripped when he paid cash for the company!

Fran, We are going to Toronto next year for family reasons and originally we were going to go to Mosport Park only as its about 60miles or so away, but with the Detroit race being only a week later we thought we'd throw that into the melting pot too!
I agree it sounds like we are doing a lot of Sports car races but the two ALMS ones make sense when we are in the neighbourhood anyway, and Silverstone isn't too far from home so it's a regular haunt for us. And none of us want to miss the BIG ONE!

How do you know Uk gets last race of season? The list of countries is in alphabetical order, as indeed it is on the LMS website, but with England rather than UK!

However in the three visits I have made to Donington the speaker system has been very good. In fact it was so good for last year's Moto GP I thought I was going to go deaf. Must have been a different location to me then, I was at Fogarties for Qualifying for the LMS race and hadn't got a clue what was going on untill the last car had gone by at which point the commentator said "and in last place on the grid......" Actually found a spot at Silverstone last weekend where I could hear the loadspeakers! Exit of Club they are very good! Anyway for what it's worth I too think they should keep the series to 5 races, Endurance cars are very expensive to run and if they series is expanded I would expect a few teams to drop out, I heard somewhere that Monza was back on for next year, but can't remember if that was FIA GT's or LMS!
