Those who went to Donington obviously didn't go into the paddock or see the garages! If a team was unlucky enough to get one of the first few carages then they only just about had enough room for the truck behind the garage! And talking of garages, who ever designed them quite clearly never measured a LPM1 or LPM2 car! Plus there's a used car lot at one end of the paddock, I know circuits have to make money somehow but a used car lot!!!!!! I know Silverstone has it's failings but at least there's plenty of space! Especially when no one turns up to watch a race which has the same cars that they trek to LM to watch!
Whilst the viewing at Donington is superb the rest of the facilities need a rebuild! Loud speakers are worse than Silverstone!
But hey ho, Silverstone, Brands or Donington are fine for me as long as we get a race!

I think the problem with the Hourly Update is that if you are following one of the smaller teams (in our case our friends at Rollcentre) or a not quite on the pace Saleen then it can get quite annoying as the only way to find out what is happening to them is to get to a big screen, which if you are not at the circuit is impossible! and not all of us stay trackside for the whole 24 hrs to keep track of every car! Being a bit old for camping we stayed at a hotel 20 mins or so from the track and i listened for half an hour on Sunday morning but there were no updates! So maybe keep the current top 10 plus top three in each class on the half hour (or hour) and then at (say) 15 mins past the hour do the retirements, and 15 mins to the hour give an update on those that are having problems, that way everyone knows at what time they need to be listening.
And another thankyou to Hindy for speaking up, I think most of us wouldn't be without RLM, it is an institution these days and I can remember the old timing screens and pre-RLM days, as well as the early days of RLM. Maybe it's because we love RLM so much that we are quick to critisise!

RLM was a real let down for me this year. When we were away from the circuit it was impossible to find out what was going on, and what was with the "Hourly Update"? They announced the top 10 then the leaders in GT2! So if you wanted to know about a car/team who wasn't in the top 10 or top 3 of GT2 then you had no chance. We were following the exploits of our friends at Rollcentre and once they had dropped out of the top 10 it was a nightmare, still at least the big screens dotted about kept displayed the full list. Which begs the question as to why the RLM guys couldn't have got their info from a screen....
And if I ever hear the words "Corvette Moment" again I'm gonna screeeeaaammm.......

According to the anoraks guide to ships ( http://www.simplonpc.co.uk/)..... SpeedOne was built in 1997 by International Catamarans (InCat) without an order having been placed. She has had various charters under the names HMAS Jervis Bay, Winner, etc before charter to Speed Ferries for their Dover-Boulogne service, which began in May 2004.
