1441  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Beer Festival on: August 22, 2005, 09:39:14 am
Hmmm cider.....

If someone can find me a place to lay my weary (and no doubt, drunken) head on Saturday night I'll be there.
1442  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: LMES Silverstone 1000k 13th August on: August 16, 2005, 03:03:14 am
...I refuse to accept that it will rain this weekend!...

So this is the reason you left your fleece behind.  You were in denial.  Or was the whole 'Oh no I left my fleece behind and it's a bit chilly' line just a handy get out clause when you couldn't hack the pace any longer and needed a small sleep at 6 in the evening?   Grin
1443  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Back from 1000ks on: August 16, 2005, 02:51:24 am
Just want to say thanks to all for a top weekend!

Ballast - the orange health drink sh*t is a good way to line the stomach.  Shame about the side effects though...Is Deliah ok?

Mr Zarse - I am still amused that I woke up with Allah, but amazed that he didn't wake me when he went off a few inches from my head!  Thanks for the cider...yummy!!!

Fran - Were you as distressed as I was when you went to the toilets to find they smelt like a whore's handbag and there were women putting on make-up in there?

Paddy - As Ballast said you must wear your pants on the outside of your trousers from time to time.  Beers and a make shift shelter.  Both much appreciated.

Everyone else....great to meet you all / see you again.  Did someone mention a beer festival or was I halucinating after drinking orange health drink sh*t?   Grin

I think I can facilitate.  In fact the beers are currently in the fridge and there's lots of ice on the go to keep them cold on the trip up the M40.  See you there this arvo.   Grin

Maybe it has something to do with stereotyping and sexist attitudes.
1446  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Why wont on: August 11, 2005, 03:49:35 pm
Going to have to disagree with you on this.  It's not a 'man thing', it's just 'a thing.'  Some people like big and/or fast, some don't.  It's not gender specific.
1447  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Why wont on: August 11, 2005, 02:34:04 pm
So she's mad then.   Grin

Each to their own I guess.  Having driven two of the beasts before I would love to have another go in one.  Just so much fun!
1448  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Why wont on: August 11, 2005, 01:49:40 pm
....very good at the driving as well but still won't drive the Ferrari!

What?   Shocked  Is this a case of isn't allowed, or is she mad?     Grin

Does anyone else have this problem - I seem to spend ages in Carrefour checking out the camping equipment/pools/toys/bicycles spares etc

Yep, I'm guilty of that.  English supermarkets on the other hand are wholly unlikeable places and I try to avoid them as much as possible.
1450  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Friday night Silverstone on: August 11, 2005, 11:01:38 am
I like the way you're talking Bob.  That's my kind of language.  Grin
Any preferences?

As far as I am aware Steve Brown's cobra does not go with curry nearly as well as the cobra I have in mind.

Can I offer anything in the way of liquid refreshment as a thanks?  A couple of bottles of Cobra for effect perhaps?
1452  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: LMES Silverstone 1000k 13th August on: August 10, 2005, 05:10:20 pm
Just realised that i am being taken to the Rugby at Twickenham so i wont get to meet more of you.

Fidget, as entertaining as a trip to Twickenham is, this weekend is only one of many to enjoy the rugby. There is only one Silverstone 1000k a year and you should be there come rain or shine (more like rain I think). Come on you will only regret it later.

Fidget,

I have to agree with Bob on this one.  As much as going to Twickers is a good way to spend a Saturday, and as great as rugby is (despite the Blacks losing to the Boks last weekend), it does not compare to the 1000k!  Tell whomever is taking you to Twickers that you have to do your hair/nails or make up some other random excuse to duck out and get up to Silverstone.

Hey Fidget

Willkommen zum wütenden Haus.  Grin Grin

It's great here.  Get stuck in and have fun!
1454  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: LMES Silverstone 1000k 13th August on: August 08, 2005, 01:57:42 pm
I am gonna knock up a curry for myself for Friday night and it will be just as easy to do it in bulk. Logisticly I can manage this for about 12 so if any of you fancy this let me know on here and you wil be sorted for food that night.

Bob,
Any room left around the table for that curry on Friday night?  Just cleared time off from the 7th circle of hell that is my job so will be up Friday night now.
1455  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Motorsport can be dangerous!!! on: July 29, 2005, 01:59:42 pm
But, talking about the rally clips, spectators do seem to stand in the most stupid places - on the outside of a bend, just on the apex for gawd's sake!!!  Huh

My sentiments exactly!
