31  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Arnage banking RIP on: November 16, 2015, 11:08:32 pm
Has anyone got camping tickets for it?
Yup. Up to 45 euros for 2016. Seems they pretty much sold out on 3rd so unclear whether it is smaller, bigger or more popular.

According to someone who lives nearby the campsite has been extended and some of the banking remains.  I have friends who camp down there and when they booked for 2016 (over the phone) the ACO didn't say anything about the changes.  I guess all will become clear in June...

Sad news indeed.  I watched the support races down there this year and was reminded why it was worth making the journey down there.
Any links to the pictures?

That brought a little lump to my throat.
Fantastic imagery.  Felt like I was in the car with him.

Bloody Hell Tom!  Who knew little loops of wool have the potential to be so nasty?

Fingers crossed that you are indeed jumping the gun, that the TURBT will be the end of it, and that this becomes just another amusing story to be retold over a beer or three when I'm back in Blighty.

In the meantime - awaiting further equally light-hearted bring a smile to the face updates.

I can see this being a right PITA for any groups that do a whip - such as The Brethren at the Guinness Bar on Saturday afternoon.

...thank you for all your hard work in keeping the CA forum within the lines of respectability for so many years.. The resulting CA forum has given us life experiences at Le Mans, Sebring, Spa and many other events, it has formed friendships that will last a life time, we have supported each other in dark and difficult times, many people have benefited from good and professional advice from other members, and we have been able to give a little back through our charity collections and donations. None of this would have happened without you, so thank you mate, you are a hero.

Word!

Wish I could have been there to raise a glass or two with you Smokie (and everyone else).
Have a fab birthday when it finally rolls around.

Kev, I am so sorry to hear this sad news.

Time heals.  Just give it the time it needs.

Pole dance contest? People usually throw money at the dancers Evil We can collect and donate it then :-)

The only problem with this is that it's usually Rex dancing naked around the flag pole at LM.  Unless you were thinking that people would throw money to make him stop...

His funeral is on Saturday and the family have invited anyone who wishes to attend.  If I didn't have a course booked I would have made the drive down to The Mount to pay my respects.  As it is I shall be raising a glass to Les at home instead.

RIP Les.

When you do get a new 'officer' let me know.  I suspect I still have the names of the people I dealt with at both the MSF and AICR.  They may or may not still be there of course, but it's a good starting point.

I'd volunteer to do it all again but I fear the distance may make it a little bit harder than for someone who is based in the UK.

I am sure there will be weather. Come prepared.

I'll be prepared for whatever the weather may throw at us as I will have full sailing wet weather gear with me.   Grin

I feel that multiple buckets of water are required to test such weather gear to the full  Evil

Ice cold water will be best.  Also, if you could arrange it so the ground is at a 45 degree angle and I'm struggling to stand up straight that would be perfect.  Grin

I see according to that plan that Kart Nord has ceased to exist, it is no more, an ex campsite.   Sad

It was doomed when the Danes took it over with their over-sized tour buses and mushroom farms.  Karting has a lot to answer for in my LM / CA story as it's where I first met Tom.  Good times.  Sad to hear it's gone.   Sad

... the only thing it can change is what stuff to pack...

I leave for the Northern Hemisphere in three days.  What is packed on Wednesday is what is going to LM regardless of any weather forecast.  Wish I had a crystal ball...
