Don't stay at the Travelodge!!

You'll wake up in a room with no key, a splitting headache and red toe nails.

Have any of you caught on to the new regime yet?

Unless you are very, very, very lucky, when applying for campsite tickets throught the ACO you will probably get Beausejour. This will get worse next year and so on.

They can easily sell the "premium" sites to agencies or corporates now which leaves the great unwashed well out of the way.

I think we've been incredibly lucky to stike a deal with TL like we have. I will never bother with the ACO again. I don't know why everybody gets so upset every year when you know you're going to get screwed by the ACO again.

Granted I won't pay over the odds for 2 GAs per ticket but getting friendly with an agency is the only way forward. Just think of all that time spent worrying which could instead be spent on designing new automated campsite security systems which will text your phone the instant anyone with a faint whiff of garlic comes within 100 yards  Grin

PS What's all this about photos on Facebook, nobody had a bloody camera there did they? Huh

With the new digital age upon us I feel people a phrase may need updating to protect tour participants from loose photo posting and that is

WHAT HAPPENS ON TOUR STAYS UNTAGGED

Why, Oh why do I never remember to book the day off after these get togethers. I feel like my eyes are superglued together and I've been gargling with sulphuric acid.

Many thanks to the Dutch, particularly Paddy and Marius, for their superb organisation. The rave bus was awesome. Hopefully Steve Zarse with the Broken Barse will post his video on youtube at some point.

See you all at Le Mans for the thursday night Ibiza foam party  Grin

Had a lovely chat with the UK Border Agency upon my return to Safffampton today. Apparently accusing them of not being real policemen isn't endearing to them.

Too many memories from the weekend to recount now but Small and Far Away will stay with me until I die.

Don't go anywhere near facebook for the next month. There are photos that should never see the light of day.

I'm not sure I want to go to Rotterdam with you anymore.

This sort of talk makes Rex look well behaved  Grin

Myself, Rex, Claire, Queen Vic, StuartC, Hayley and Kate are arriving in AMS at 09:30

Assuming Rex doesn't get stopped going through customs I anticipate arriving in Rotterdam around 10:30 - 11:00. Not the airport though, I think the train goes somewhere else.

Actually can one of the Freeky Deekies tell us where we should go? I doubt we can get in the hotel at that time of day but we can probably leave luggage. We're staying at the Brainpark Novotel.

Maybe best to meet you somewhere later Bob. PM me your number if you want.

PC is ordered and awaiting delivery.

Should have pointed out that my camcorder is a hard disk version Sony and records in AVCHD which means transfer will probably have to be HDMI or USB (might have a look in the manual!)

Will download some trial software but Pinnacle and Sony Vegas Platinum both handle that format and sell for under £100.

Will let you know more once the pc arrives. Thanks for your help.

 Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh

That's just too obtuse, even for you Peter.
43  Club Arnage / Help / Re: HD Video Editing on: October 27, 2009, 09:04:39 pm
Cheers Peter.

The 2 300 gig drives will be mirrored with the onboard raid controller and I already have a home media server which has plenty of striped storage. I'm also going for the blue ray writer.

I will check out Adobe, I've seen it recommended elsewhere.

One more thing, how do you get the video off the camera? Is firewire the best way or a dedicated hdmi or dv capture board?
44  Club Arnage / Help / Re: HD Video Editing on: October 27, 2009, 08:23:31 pm
What's happened to Peter's reply?

Anyway, thanks for that Peter. I am replacing my pc through work and we use Dell who unfortunately don't do SSD drives yet. The spec I am looking at so far is

2.4 GHz Quad Core Xeon processor
12 GB 1066 MHz RAM
2 x 300 GB SAS Drives
Windows 7 Ultimate
1GB ATi FireGL Graphics Card

Should be man enough.

Do you have any software experience or recommendations?
45  Club Arnage / Help / HD Video Editing on: October 26, 2009, 03:38:44 pm
Does anyone do HD video editing and if so can you answer the following:

What spec of PC do you have?
Do you have a dedicated video capture board?
What software do you use?

I have a Sony HD camcorder and want to actually do something with the video I have taken.
