Having just re-read my last post and Gilles' previous post, the penny's just dropped that we're talking about the Texan lady here.  Wink

Fine, no probs.  As long as you're happy that you can play a US NTSC format video - most modern European video players will work.
We'll sort out the rest off forum.
6800  Club Arnage / 2007 and earlier / Steve McQueen's 'Le Mans' video on: July 25, 2003, 07:59:07 pm
Now I've got hold of a copy of this movie on DVD, I have a surplus NTSC video lying around.

I'll give this away for nothing and even pay the postage to anyone who wants it.

Corporate Blunder!
Powergen has formed an Italian division. They went for the obvious company name and then they registered a domain for it in the company name. This isn't a joke - the link is live..

He claims that when he was at Uni, he entered a cometition and did it fourteen times in 24 hours. It seems on the last few go's, only a small gust of strange smelling gas and some white powder were emitted.Chris wears glasses and has shares in Kleenex.

Help, I've just pissed myself laughing and ruptured my prostate.  Embarrassed
6805  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Ferries - who needs them on: July 18, 2003, 10:02:30 pm
Dick initially asked for a single (knowing he was coming back in my car) on Eurostar - Ashford to Paris (£159).  Then the sales person said if he has a dated return ticket booked for specific train times the offer price came down to £89 - return.
The TGV from Paris to Le Mans was £29 single (or approx twice that for a return).

So single trip £118.
Return trip £147.

He brought all his camping gear and a change of clothes in a big bag.

Hope this is of some help.

I'll hold your coat.

I HATE Rouen but we always go through there.  Our convoy consists of kit cars with big hairy V8's and dubious cooling systems.
This year southbound the tunnel was closed and the ambient temeperature was high = slow moving traffic = overheating.
Previous years we have had a slow drive northbound in high temperatures = slow moving traffic = overheating.
Maybe I'll build a car with an air cooled engine  Huh

One of our group came down on Friday for the race this year.
He picked up the Eurostar in Ashford.  Changed in Paris and took the TGV to Le Mans - 130 miles on about 50 minutes?
He left Kent after midday and was in Le Mans for the parade.
I'll ask him how much it cost.
6809  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:What the heck is going on ticketwise on: July 16, 2003, 10:26:55 pm
Gilles, I ordered my 2004 Houx Annexe tickets on the Thursday before the race and received my acknowledement of receipt dated 9th July 2003.
6810  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Rip off ferry prices on: July 15, 2003, 09:04:25 pm
The ferry pirates website doesn't mention Norfolk Line.  I've just done a random test booking on their site and they're offering a 5 day return offer with car for £149 down from the standard fare of £219.
I know this is to Dunkerque but I wonder what their price will be come race week next year compared to the usual Dover / Calais sailings.
Maybe I'll have to marinise the cob! , or buy an amphicar Smiley
