General Discussion / Re: 2025 Experience

I had another great year - my 38th.  Unfortunately my son and his partner weren't able to go this year so I only met up with one mate from our little group.  Only went over on the Monday so I missed scrutineering and Test Day.  As it happens, I've had some serious health problems over the last 15 months or so and I was really quite lucky to be there.  My eldest was working with the Valkyries that did the track parade on Friday and I was able to meet up with him on Saturday evening.

Best advice.dont go it’s like a Grand Prix now it’s become too popular.

Totally disagree.  The last few years have seen the best racing we've had for years at Le Mans.  Yes, it's popular and there are plenty of people there but I'm still able to do all the things I've been doing for years.

Hello everyone,

With the 24 Hours of Le Mans coming up soon, I’m curious — what are your top tips for first-time visitors to make the most out of the race weekend?

Do you have any recommendations on the best spots to watch the race, how to get around the circuit, or must-see events? I also found this official site that provides a lot of useful information to discover the circuit and its surroundings:
https://www.lemans-tourisme.com/en/discover/the-circuit.html

Are there any new features or changes planned for this year’s edition that we should know about?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Well spotted Bob.

A return to the UK for WEC is way overdue, even though I am not a fan of Silverstone.

Principally, the WEC’s management team requires confidence that the cost of travelling across the English Channel for a race would be offset, at least in part, via gate receipts.

Which is code for "The BRDC have not agreed to pay us our 'think-of-a-number and double it' hosting fee otherwise they'd be running the event at a loss" - the cost of a channel crossing pales into insignificance compared to sea/air freighting the paddock around the globe.

Quite!
