Any Employment Law Specialists??
« on: December 01, 2009, 02:12:50 pm »
Is anyone on CA a bit of an employment law specialist?  Having a spot of bother and need to know the ins and outs of my situation before bowling in.... Tried the CAB - they want me to meet and I just don't have time! It's not too complicated - but someone with the knowledge would be really helpful right now!

Any help rewarded with alcoholic beverages on BN in june - or before......

A very relieved, and positive (for the first time in ages)

I was going to suggest Toby and his good lady after all the help they gave Claire 2 years ago but it appears he beat me to it. Nice to see the CA spirit is alive and well when folk need some advice.

Good Work and Good luck Brad :D

In these situations its always better to take the pragmatic approach and sit down with the bosses and work out a deal that gives you a clean exit, generally its more lucrative and you have more chance of a good reference to move on with. Can you imagine how busy the industrial tribunals are at the moment, unfortunately employers are getting away with a lot more in the current climate, it's wrong but that's the way it is and nothing compared to what it will be like if Maggie's protege Cameron gets in.

Having been involved with prelim work on behalf of employer clients, you would not believe some of the decisions that so-called tribunials make, often based on no evidence at all, merely supposition, word of mouth and blatant invention and lies. They are truly biased against employers, even when faced with lying cheating, stealing employees. It's a disgrace, all thanks to politically motivated placements on tribunals by this corrupt, useless, spendthrift Labour Govt who are shortly to be consigned to the dustbin of history, or even better, in prison where they belong.

Oh and IMO Cameron is about as much a Maggie protege as Michael Foot! He's hardly Norman Tebbit is he??  ;D

I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.
