Brittany Ferries
« on: July 01, 2010, 05:20:06 pm »
All,

There's a post on Beermountain in praise of Brittany Ferries, and in the few replies it's had I think the compnay come out of it pretty well.

They appear to be fair and prompt on their refunds for the more unfortunate / disorganised amongst us.

May be of use to those for whom Brittany are an option to travel.

Did I just say that out loud?

The problem is the amount they raise their prices around the Le Mans weekend.
They may not quibble over refunds but with the prices they charge I should think not. Just look at the prices they charge around le Mans compared to a similar length crossing either side of Le Mans weekend.

Personally I can't justify their prices compared to LD Lines 20 miles up the coast at Le Havre. Also be very careful when booking to check both brittanyferries.fr against brittanyferries.co.uk. Last trip over there was over £150 difference in favour of the english site but it changes according to the exchange rate and booking numbers. This tip applies to both of them.

We used to use Brittany all the time but the prices trebled in the same number of years and we no longer use them as a result
