Magna Carta
« on: January 26, 2015, 10:24:40 pm »

2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta.

I understand that clauses 39 and 40 are considered quite important and may have contributed to an Englishman's liberty.

It is also a very important document all our colonial friends particularly those from our 13 colonies got so upset about the tea.

I understand that our cousins may have plagiarised the agreement for their own constitution and that this has given then the ability to travel and attend the race.

So without our ancestral King's generosity in agreeing to the original demands of the Barons, we may not have seen any our New England cousins in France.

As our tax year comes to an end and I prepare to open my wallet and provide my own gifts of gold I feel for King John as he lost his lands near Le Mans.

With a bit of imagination, you could almost think of the race as British.... hang on a minute, I think it is.....
