My sincere condolences.
I also lost my father this year (to prostate cancer).

He never made it to Le Mans, but I knew he was there this year watching over us.

I will raise a beer of two next year to our absent father(s).

Baldrick, my Lord! But I can change it to Ploppy if it'll make things easier.

Dear Kevin,

My sincere condolences at this difficult time. Your dad was a really nice chap, glad I met him with you at Oulton Park a few years ago.

I am really pleased that you made it out to France in time to be with him.

You can be sure that come the race next year we'll all raise a glass in honor of your dad as you'll be among friends in our encampment.

Jules

Sorry to hear of your loss Kev. Chin up and think of the good times. Le Mans will be even more special for you now as you will always feel a strong connection with your Dad every time you visit. I'll raise a glass to him this evening.

Sorry for your loss Kev. My Dad first took me to Le Mans and we raise a glass to him every year,
Never argue with an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

So sorry to hear your news Kev, just think back to the good times and keep them in your heart, and let LM - or any race you wish - be a link to happy days

Kev - real bad news on your Dad - never good

But remember - next year will raise a few glasses for him next year, and every year - as Dads do need to be remembered

Cheers Kev

Hi Kev, I echo the words above. I can well imagine a glass or two being raised in his honour next year. My condolences too.

A deeply sad time for you Kev, we know how hard it is for you right now

As everyone says remember the best times and I'm sure we will all raise a glass, stubby or a can with you in his memory

He seems to have been quite a guy and had a great choice in favourite cars

Apologies for being late on the scene Kev, I'm so sorry to read this news. I somehow never had the pleasure of meeting your old fella, but all I can say is he had terrific taste in GpC sports cars. Those Jags happened to be the reason I first came to LM back in 1988 and I'm guessing similar applies to him too. Chin up buddy, see you next year.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Thanks for all your messages and comments.

We are now back in Blighty after a cremation to get dad back without having to go via a English autopsy!

We thought he would travel in style again in a bag he got at lemans and has been all over the world with him

Now to sort English details out but I'll be at the race next year and my brother is now trying to come from Oz just for the race out of respect for dad
