New grandstand?
« on: January 10, 2025, 06:05:55 pm »
Anyone know if the rumoured new grandstand at the first chicane will be up and running this year? Can’t find a mention of it on the ACO’s website. Maybe it is only a rumour.
There is a corner of a foreign field that will be forever England ------ Houx Annexe

And the bastards have built on it.

I believe that there is already a viewing area near there, but only for corporate VIP's.
Even if they did build one, I would be surprised if it were for the likes of us plebs.

+1 on this.  The ACO have spent years trying to keep us away from the Mulsanne.... I can't see any reason why they would encourage us to go there now.

As Barry says, even with a track tabard, getting there is a mission, there is no proper roads once you get behind the Leroy Merlin store and I can't ever see the ACO allowing the great unwashed anywhere near there.

Got down there one year with hospitality (which we had already blagged our way into the pit hospitality boxes), it was just a raised platform with a bar for VIP's.

Pretty good view and great sounds, but needed a 4x4 shuttle to get to - it was VERY WET - must have been 2016.

I cannot see them ever herding the masses that way.

Baldrick, my Lord! But I can change it to Ploppy if it'll make things easier.
