Anyone remember what year debris fencing was first put up on the pit straight,( I was gonna use the word erected but thought it might attract the attention of BIG H ) I got photos from 1994 with no fencing and I reckon they went up in 1995. there are several pints riding on this so come on guys help Bob get pissed.

It depends what you call first went up.
It was there in 1980 and came down in time for the 83 race.

Looking at my pictures I reckon it went back up after the 95 race
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

Just checked my annuals and there was no fencing in the 1995 pictures but it was there for the 1996 race.
