What's the concensus of opinion?
Is it worth the trek down to Arnage on the Friday afternoon / evening.
We've done all the normal Mad Friday stuff, the town centre, the village etc.
Want to try a new venue this year for the Friday.
Views and thoughts appreciated
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

couple of years ago arnage was great fun in the evening. lots of people, lots of beers and lots of expensive cars driving ridiculously fast. but last year the police were on the ball and nothing exciting really happened there. guess it can be a bit hit and miss really.

Wasn't there on the Friday last year, but on Sunday night the police didn't seem to mind me running a 289 V8 Zodiac without silencers and  testing out the lineloc with a good smokey burnout... ;D ;D

But surely you can see that as well on the strip of road outside MB or even Mulsanne?

Any views on the best spots and times to spectate/participate in those sort of games? I'll send the Wild Choppers along!

eg Mad Friday - road outside Maison Blanche campsite 11.00am - 9.00pm (best around lunchtime and then 6.00pm last year?)

The roundabout outside Houx Annexe can be very ammusing, went to Arnage last year on Friday evening, and although good thought Houx was better the year before.
Not sure what i will do this year, maybe try the road outside MB.

Hitched a ride in Arnarge about 10pm on/in a green flag recovery truck last year(me in the cab Brad and Pete holding onto the light bar on the Flat bed) Good atmosphere lots of people, too many in the road for much car action though.
The Chopper parade would certanly be a spectical to behold - tally Ho.

Oh noooo Mr. Toad, pleeease not the Wild Shoppers...   :o   ;D
I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

Mr. Rick

Had a corkin time at Arnage last year on the Friday eve. Sure "les scuffeurs" were in attendance but still had a mighty fine time .. well worth the trek! ;D

Abs

Hung around outside MB last year and it was alright.

Promised myself this year (good intentions and all that) that I will be in some sort of state to make it over to technopark to see the Brethren with both Rusty's famous chilli challenge and the flamming bikes!!!!!

We had a quality day out at Arnage last year. Sat in one of the bars further along the street in the afternoon watching the cars cruise by and then moved down to the roundabout later on. There was a real party atmosphere going on, until  the police turned up and cleared everyone out of the roundabout. We then managed to hitch a lift back to Karting Nord in the back of a severely overloaded Transit van. Met a bunch of mad dutchmen there as well.

A good day out that we are going to repeat at least in the evening this year.

Simes

Never made it to Arnage, often found lirking at the entrance to Bleu on Mad Friday.

We had a good laugh on HA in 2003, there's a handily placed roundabout & a makeshift "drag strip" close by so we saw plenty of action without having to go too far, must try to get to Arnage & a little bit further out this year!!

I was camped just a stones throw from the HA roundabout in '03, the firworks were amazing and the burnouts were class. Not so sure the naked cycling race was necessary though! Somebody turned up in a rented Europe-a-car van with a huge sound system and blasted away the cob webs for a while. I think it was all mostly Sunday night though.
