Clarkson can be amusing and for the most part should not be taken seriously. He is at his best when poking fun at things, and he often has at least the shred of truth when he tears into whatever is his latest target. Howerver, this time he is demonstrating his monumental capability to completely and utterly miss the point.

On Radio Le Mans on Sunday morning, it came to light that a car that has not done 50% of the leader's laps by a set time (10am or midday ?) will be black flagged.  No doubt to stop people rebuilding the car and then just getting in the way.  They interviewed a driver (can't remember who) and told him that in order to avoid the black flag, their car would have to do 25 laps in the next 20 minutes  ;D  The driver responded that he'd "never heard that before  :-\".

I think the Driver was Bobby Verdon-Roe in the Rollcenter Dellara Nissan, after the interview they said he ran to the back of the garage to ask someone.

The car shows as withdrawn at 10:04am for "no reason", but I don't know if it actually got black flagged.

Mark.
