In an article in the Metro, 29/4/2004, TfL stated :

"Wheelchair users and parents with buggies will be able to move around London much easier when the Capital's bus network becomes 100% accessible next year"

The article goes on to say (quoting Mike Weston, head of operations for London Buses) "Bus design has evolved over a number of years and, although there are still a few buses in service which are inaccessible and have steps, these will all be replaced before the end of 2005"

As you can (just) see from the clock, with 4 hours and 10 mins of the race to go, things were a lot more relaxed in those days with people walking across the track!

To give you a clue, the year was very close to the one in which my personalised piccy was taken.

Very close! The personal piccy was in '87 (Jags had this same message in '86 and '87), and the main picture - the bus - was '88 when the big cats first won (in [relatively] recent times).

Must look out a few more mouldy oldies.

This is the famous Tiger Sopwith/Lazy Soames battle, if you notice the conductor, (Tiger), is just approaching the bus, whereas the driver is not yet aboard, this was due to Lazy's insistence that they were due to leave at 3.10 p.m. and not a moment before.....to be continued?
