In today's news - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/6234147.stm

So does this mean that the Russian owner isnt actually doing anything with the company,  not moving production?   They simply announced it was moving and then let it go into administration?   I will never understand the world of business...  ???

There's an article on Pistonheads from yesterday. It makes pretty confusing reading and gives an insight into the huge loses that TVR have made recently.

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=15660

I firmly believe it's the end of the marque. Shame.

Sounds like a case of asset stripping until it all goes under spectacularly, then walk away with the brand name and put it on whatever is built, wherever else it is going to be built.

Hmm sounds rather familiar.....Phoenix and MG ring a bell there.....

How can they make a loss of £11.8 million on a turnover of only £16.7 million?  That doesn't sound right at all  :-\

Maybe there will be a change of name as with Rover to Roewe ( I think the chinks have trouble saying rover ), TVR comfortably sits with TZR and follows the same concept of dropping the vowels, maybe there will be a balls out muther f**cker of a car called the RS-Putin or maybe just the Polonium 210. Just a thought.

The reason the Chinese aren't using the Rover name is that it's now owned by Ford!
Asset strip TVR ???, I doubt that there were any assets to strip, in fact from what I hear I think it was the Russion who got asset stripped when he paid cash for the company!
Of course I buy green cars, my Aston is green, my MGB is green, my Disco Sport is green,  oh, that's not what you meant by green?

Sounds like some pimp realised he wasnt going to make a quick buck, needed to put some comitment into the job and got scared or bored and is looking for a way out.
