When coming back from le Mans this year I will have sometime on my hands before the boat home and hence am looking for something to do to kill the time but also with a motorsport theme.
Anyone know of some good spots to visit on the drive back from Le Mans to Caen?
Old circuits, etc.
Thanks.

No circuits that I know enroute, but Sees and Falaise are both nice places to stop and wander around with plenty of historic interest.

I assume you have done Pegasus Bridge and some of the Normandy landing beaches?

Yes agree fagey, the Falaise Pocket tour is very interesting. It's where the Germans were cornered and then bombarded into the ground by Allied airpower. You need to follow the signs saying "L'Encirque".
Alternatively, and in keeping with the motorsport theme, there is an amazingly good Go-Kart and Quadbike track at Deauville if you have a whole day to spare. There's a good Crazy Golf course too, which we had a real hoot doing last year.

I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

And there are a couple of great cafes in the square in the middle of Falaise, where you can sit and idly survey the battle damage still evident on the church.
Forgot about the go-kart track Andy mentions at Deauville - it is indeed bloody good - went there a few years ago.

Thanks chaps for all the suggestions.
I'll go through them with our group and see what takes their fancy.
Might be back with some more questions later.......

Christopher, there is a bunker in Ouistreham, not far from the ferry port. This is a four or five story bunker that is now a museum, well worth a visit makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck when you are on the upper level and see how much beach was visable to them.

Its good to visit as you can leave your car at the ferry port and is only a 5 min walk to get to it.
